    Bulldog

I am seriously thinking of moving to bulldog for my phone and bradband.

For £42 a month i can get unlimited 8meg braodband, phone line, bulldog phone service with no charges for calls to land lines and what seem good prices on mobiles (compared to what i can find from BT, they hide all thier pricing)

This seems a very good deal and i do not phone international numbers and how do the national rate etc charges compare?

What im trying to get at is, is there any catches i should be considering and oh does it use my normal ADSL rounter as it gives that impression.

    Thanks

The only catch is shocking customer service and billing errors!!

Some months i've not been charged for my internet, but to find its added onto the next months bill, making it huge!!

Also you get a voicemail box on your number, however they didnt tell us that when we signed up & i still dont know how to access it or turn it off lol.

But, i get roughly 7mb speeds so i cant complain about the internet!

Aviod Bulldog. They are massively oversubscribed. Two people i know signed up with them, but after 2 months neither of them had recieved the equipment or been connected. Yet Bulldog billed them both for those two months. I think they have both gone to Wanadoo now.

I can vouch for their inept billing department.

How hard is it for them to setup a DD when you send the "correct" paperwork to them

As soon as ADSL2+ hits my exchange from Be or even UKOline I'm jumping

I made the mistake of using Bulldog for around 9 weeks last year. During this time the phone was echoey on all calls and during the weekends no one could call me on the landline (use to get nbr not recognised error and when I tried to use the phone out it was just a dead line)

The account was transferred back to BT on the 30th September last year (account is paid until then) however for some bizare reason Bulldog are still trying to charge me for the months since then and last week I got another final reminder from them.

I have phoned them every month to get this resolved and been advised that the account will be cancelled and the charges reversed however this never happens and the bill keeps going up.....

In all there customer services are a joke and there phone system clearly didnt work, if its any consolation tho the internet was fine

I've had bulldog since June last year, product of phone/internet is very good, especially the fact the upload speeds are good. The billing is the worst part, but ive seen gradual improvments in recent months. Currently my billing is not up to date, but im being patient, knowing that sometime in the future it'll all be sorted out.

I'm getting messed around by BD atm too. My bill currently stands at £250+ as they charge me but never take the money from my account. I emailed the billing team to say they could withdraw the money at any point and confirmed that my DD details were still the same. I also requested a reason as to why the money had not been taken.

They told me to contact customer services to get the bill resolved and said 'it is the billpayers responsilbilty to settle outstanding debts'. I assume this was their 'reason' for why the money had not been withdrawn.

Since then I have tried to call customer services but I refuse to stay on hold for more than 1hr which is currently how long it seems to take to speak to someone who can help.

The actual product itself has been great - no probs with phone or Internet connection, but I cannot recommend a company who continues to let it's customers get into unmanagable amounts of debt. I know I'm not the only one with this problem.

edit: also forgot to add that in the email they replied to they asked me to update my DD details in the details section of the bulldoglounge site - this feature has never worked so god only knows why they ask you to do it!

I signed up about six months ago and I've not had a problem, be it billing or customer service (although I've never had to call) or the speed or reliability of the service.

I live in Sheffield (not sure if region is related) and it's fine (great, even) for me on the 8Mib with phone and calls package that nvening mentions.
