Help me eliminate Dial up settings.

Help me eliminate Dial up settings.

Hello, Like many people here, I provide tech support for friends and relatives, in this case my Dad. About 6 weeks ago, I finally persuaded him to ditch dial up and get broadband. I have set him up with a Demon ADSL account and my old Ethernet modem router.

The trouble is, the PC (Windows 2000 BTW) has not completeness forgotten it's dial up settings. The administrator account connects fine via Ethernet, but other non privileged accounts still try to use the modem, and because they have no privileges, I cannot change the network settings from those accounts.

My question is, how to I completely get rid of all dial up settings, and set the Ethernet port as the only way to access the Internet, globally?

I do not have any install CDs from the ISP, or that came with the modem.

I know that the ultimate solution would be to re-install windows, but I would prefer not to do that, as I would have to re-install all the applications, that would take ages.

Do you have any suggestions or thoughts?

    Thanks.

Login as administrator, remove the dialup settings completely. OR you could add the accounts in question to the local admin group, make the changes, then remove them.
