ZEN have a very good reputation tho there have been the odd murmurings about CS not being as good as it once was they are bit more expensive than other providers but they have been going for years so they should know what they are doing. BT i dont know too much about they always strike me as one of those companies who are so big they dont have a clue what they are doing.

Avoid Pipex they have introduced major traffic shaping on everything seemingly, this applies Nildram as well (tho the limits may not be as strict) as a posative my Pipex line is very very stable but im only on 1mg

Avoid Tiscali and Plus Net - jokes
New Net are getting good feedback
Namesco were doing well but have a contended pipe which is causing some problems for people
UKFSN or Aquiss seem to be doing well, they are Enta resellers but they have a package where u have a peak allowance and an off peak allowance.

Cable is supposed to be good compared to ADSL, but you have to go TV & internet, and then add phone to make full use of it...

I'm with pipex - which are shocking for torrent, etc, just switched to sky but waiting to connect to find out how they go. Sky uses their own hardware which apparantly is a bit buggy - but fixable if you don't mind a bit of tweaking.

Zen customer services and support are all very good - been with them for a few years. Had to move as I moved to ADSL Max and regretted it as the cap was too low and compared to others, Zen worked out a lot more expensive. If price is an issue, then Zen may not be the one.

    I'm with Be now.

I'm with Blueyonder (telewest/ntl) and I've not been let down at all in 4, maybe 5 years. their support is first rate and installation guys are prompt, friendly and know their stuff.
never had a downed line either - any technical problems i've had turned out to be self-imposed and were sorted out by their guys, even though strictly speaking they were not supposed to (issue like running windows adv. server 2003 when they only 'officially' suppose xp)
that's just me though; however, i've not heard anything bad about them
    matt.

i also don't consider their prices too bad, when i've looked around i've not found anything that in the long term is any better (looking at monthly charges inc/exc bandwidth capping etc)

I'm in need of a new ISP, I've looked long and hard and I've come to the conclusion that good ISP's just don't exist anymore! Everywhere you look you see bandwidth limits, fair usage policys, 12 month contracts. It's just not simple anymore.

All I want is an ISP that can offer me 8mb DSL, less than a 6 month contract, unlimited downloads for £30 a month or less. Haven't found such a thing yet.

I have Sky so I would have loved to have got Sky Broadband, unfortunately it's not available in my area and according to Sky it won't be anytime within the next 12 months. The only service they can offer me is Sky Connect, using the BT network which has a 40Gb monthly cap and costs £17.99

I've just checked Freedom2Surf, their packages don't look too bad.

The only downside is they have a 50Gb monthly limit, that is a lot and I don't personally see myself using that much but just in case. My broadband is hooked up to my PC, my brothers Apple Mac and my Xbox 360. Between all three devices I'd just prefer something unlimited so I know I'm not going to get any bother.

I'll second tiscali been with them for a few years from dial up through 512 now on ADSL max at around 7 Mb. I've never had real problems, it was a bit flaky for about a week on the initial max upgrade but otherwise excellent.
