    Can't you get that case padding from quietpc.co.uk that gets rid of lot's the general noise a PC create.

    Ive often heard that padding is fairly ineffective, furthermore my pc noise is more from the fans than vibrations etc.

    Some good prices on the Zalman, but the Cu versions are only about £5 cheaper than the Ninja. How good is the stock fan on the Ninja, ive heard its fairly loud.

    Ive got a Rev.B Ninja and the stock fan isnt that loud, not as silent as my Noctua 120mm 800rpm case fans though. I recently took it off because I found that it mas making a vibration noise which was due to the mounting clips.

    Need to re-attach it really, stick abit of blu-tack on it should sort things out. U could get a quieter fan if you like but its an extra cost.

    You can buy the Ninja without the fan im told so that may save a few £. At the moment im leaning towards;

    1. Scythe Ninja RevB (perhaps with an 800rpm 120mm Noctua)
    2. 4x Sharkoon 2000's 80mm for the case fans

    But im still a little unsure with regards to the graphics cooling, trying to hunt down a Arctic VGA Silencer Rev 3 to fit my 9800se AIW but its proving very difficult, any other good coolers that fit AIW cards? The Zalman 700/900 are incompatible unfourtunately.

    you may want to look for passive cooling option, it might be a bit more expensive but would do a decent job and be totally silent.

    Im using a Zalman VF700-CU on my ATI X800XT which does a decent job at cooling and is quiet on the low fan speed setting.

    to be honest with you, I'd get a different case with 120mm fans instead.

    I was in the same situation as yourself as I had a Lian Li PC-60, pretty much identical to yours. I was considering replacing the case fans with better ones but had a look around and instead went for the Akasa Eclipse case which is bigger and has 2x 120mm fan mounts.

    The 120mm fans are just at good as cooling, if not better, and are quieter than having 80mm fans. The only thing I dont like about the Akasa compared to the Lian Li is the hard drive cage, whilst it is removable its not as quick and easier as the Lian Li drive cage.

    Just depends on how much you are willing to spend really.

    the s-flex scythe fan is a well respected fan

    just use the mobo fan control or speed fan to turn it down a touch

    the reason for the noctua's reported as being quiet is because they don't shift that much air

    If i did go down the avenue of a new case id look for a HTPC sized case or similar, the Lian Li is a little big for my liking. As for the graphics cooling, the hunt continues.

    As djphatic has advised - the fan with the Rev B Ninja isn't that loud.

    I've read that on www.silentpcreview.com.

    If i was to go all out on the silent front, probably go with;

    4 x 80mm Sharkoon LED 2000 "Golf Ball" Quiet 17.8 dB
    1 x Scythe Ninja Plus Fanless HeatPipe Cooler
    1 x 520W Corsair HX Series Modular PSU
    1 x Silverstone LC17B-C Desktop chassis w. card reader

    I know you said that acoustic padding would not be so useful to you, but for others reading this, I just stuck two 1ft square carpet tiles on the inside of my side covers and have reduced HDD and fan noises significantly ...

    25 pence each !
    Cheers, David
