About Probe, it has a MB temp which seems the same as Speedfans System temp. Is this the Nb temp of the board? And what is regarded a safe/good region?

Great thread Clunk - has really helped me out
One question though... why do you need to turn off EIST, Thermal Control, C1E, etc? I've done as you said and clocked my Q6600 G0 up from 2.4 to 3 GHz now. So what would happen if I turned these power-saving features back on now?
It is because some people (myself included), find that there can be instability, especially when going for higher clocks.
If you need the power saving features, try enabling them one at a time to see how you go, and dont forget to stress test each time you change something
excellent, thanks! it was just what i was looking for. in a few weeks i'll have a new job and i'll build myself a computer.
Just built this pc and it run great. Everyting work well in this hardware set up. I did alot of cheaking on hardware before I built it and thank for all the good info from this site I can make it run like a top. Good info guys and thanks alot for the best overclocking info on the web. If you need a case with alot air moving check out the
ANTEC NINE HUNDRED this site will not let me post the url yet but it is under MY System. I also put a 120mm fan in the side of the case so I have two 120mm in the front, two in the 120mm back, one 120 in the side and a 200mm fan in the top.

I just overclocked my e4400 up to 3ghz and now my temps are at idle 50c under moderate usage mid high 50's and after a few hours of gaming 65c is that a temp to be concerned with or is it ok before i overclocked this cpu temps where around 34c most of the time low 40's during gaming. And yes im still useing stock cooler for now even if temps are abit high it is rock stable

Great guide!
Im pretty new to this scene so I searched for a OC guide and found this one to be the easiest to follow. Thumbs up!
Now, I followed the guide, did everything accordingly and yet, my computer would NOT OC whatsoever. The BIOS says something while CPU-Z shows the standard setup. Whats the deal?
Something isn't quite right here. Any ideas?!
..and yes: I followed the guide exactly!

This forum actually requires me to post min. 5 posts before I can insert an image or URL because of spam bots. Heres a URL to setup if you fix it

Ok.
If you follewd it exactly, you should have the overclock that you are looking for.
You need to post all your bios settings please.
So...you haven't set your RAM's Voltage or timmings (memory Voltage set to AUTO and in the RAM Timmings, says set by SPD)
Have you disabled Speed Step?
I'll let Clunk sort you out...if I get too involved I will be out of my depth and pi$$ Clunk off!
