There was an announcment yesterday that global mass production has started on the m1330, but, That only seems to be applying to the US at the moment lol

Black apparently is the only colour they are shipping to..i made one good choice on it after all

Mine is supposed to go into production end of this week start of next according to my dude at dell so we'll see..

Phoned them Wednesday - in a very relaxed style I told them that I would have no option but to cancel my order as 5 weeks was a ridiculous delay - "sorry sir you cannot cancel your order as it had
just gone into production" and had not yet updated on my 'order watch' system. Kind of handy?

Still it's arriving on Monday so I will let you know if/when it arrives.

Of course you can cancel it at anytime, from before production to through production, to upto 1 week after you receive it.

They tried to pull that on me once, and I suggested that I might not be home to receive the packages. They they offered me a discount.

TBH I felt I got a good enough deal the first time round and just a bit annoying that I will have waited
4 weeks for it to arrive!!!

Its about someone who tried to bargain for everything. A good read and some great tips.

Comes out at £799 inc VAT, spoke to a lady at Dell, specced it all up and sure enough was asked for my Visa Number, when I explained that I only had a budget of £700 I was greeted with the response that she didn't think I would get that much discount, but put me on hold for about 5 minutes, she then came back with the 'BEST' price of £749.

When I said that I couldn't go ahead with that she told me to take her ext and call her back when I was ready to proceed. I said not to worry as I could not possibly spend more than £700 and told her my card was waiting but I'd have to leave it. Surely a 6.25% discount is a bit low?

I've heard of 10, 20 30 % offers I guess I just wait now and see if they call back
You could try do a £700 order with e.g. a reduced CPU. Then when it comes to ordering say "I'll buy now if you up the CPU to 'blah' for the same price".

    Re: Dell Haggling.........

I got to haggle free delivery and £80 saving on mine... also swapped Vista Business with Home Premium which isn't really a haggle but a preference. I'm the most unassertive guy in the world, but I guess as long as you seem unsure if you want to go ahead with them on the phone but sure that you need a laptop, you can save at least something.
