    CPU upgrade

    Hey

I've currently got an Intel E6300 processor in my system and i was looking at upgrading it to either the E7200 or the E8400. The E7200 is cheap but the E8400 has good performance.
Is it worth upgrading at all? and if so which CPU?

This all depends what you are wanting to do with your PC.

    Re: CPU upgrade

It really depends on what you're using it for. The 2.5ghz E7200 should cope with pretty much most games at the moment (my stock E4600 does fine with Team Fortress 2 etc and Crysis at Medium/High @2.4), and for £80 it's pretty cheap.

If you use any software with quad-core optimisation it might be worth investing in a quad core instead (I think you can get a Q6600 for about the same as a E8400).

    Hope it helps.

Gaming and filmage. Main reason to upgrade would be Age of Conan as I've heard you need a beast of a system to play it.

    Re: CPU upgrade

    Recommended
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz (E6600) or better
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7950GX2 or better
    RAM: 2GB or more

For Age of Conan, your specs sound alright as they are mate. I doubt you'd have to tweak the settings much to get decent performance. If you'e still set on upgrading it sounds like the E7200 would be fine.
