I have re-specced your system VERY slighty and here is what i came up with.

Most of the parts are the same. There are only 2 minor changes.

All of this is from Scan and icludes VAT (only just touching £900 delivered.:

    Thats a HUGE saving.
If you are a member here you get Scan free delivery so mine is under £900 delivered.
you certainly changed a few things....... personaly i prefer my build, but il look into getting from scan......just their customer service which a bit hazzy at times.this why i went for OC.uk first.

That has to be a first.. Scan are the superior supplier in every way imo. I even live by ocuk most of the time and still order from scan because of the prices and CS.

What is there to prefer? (Not being funny )

The build i gave you will be just as, if not more powerful.
The parts i have changed are actuially better quality than some of the original ones.

Add that to the fact that you save yourself £300 without compromising on either quality or speed of the system.

AND you get free delivery............Saved £20 odd there aswell.

    And lastly........its not from OCUK.

You asked for a little advice and thats what i gave you (and a hefty discount to boot). Just look at the price of the 4870. You saved £50 on that alone. The CPU is also £15 cheaper.

As far as Scans customer service being 'hazy'. All etailers have their problems occassionally.

Look at it this way......can you see an OCUK section on Hexus where you can go and complain and be listened to? Nope....neither can I........thats precisely why Scan get my cash (as well as being cheaper), rahter than OCUK.

I'd try and get the Abit X38 rather than the Asus, I hear the Asus isn't that great. In fact the X38 never seems to get a rave review but if you want the extra features it offers then I guess there isn't much choice.
    I know.....and its annoying.
The reason being though is that none of the reviews for the ABIT X38 QuadGT were done with a good bios. They all used 11 or under (which is madness).
Now the bios is matured enough, the board is fantastic. (and clocks like a good 'un)

That's fair enough, I mean if I were to go X38 that is what I have and you made a good argument for them before being the enthusiast board and thus holding the value better

What about the DFI, I read clunks review of that and it seemed to go down well.

DFI often are very picky about componenets used with them so that puts me off tbh.

As obviously knowledgeable as Clunk is, as i said, i dont think the Abit review was fair as it was an older bios for a start.

I havent had any problems with the baord though. It runs cool. Its stable. It overclocks really well (had my Q6600 @ 3.4ghz without upping the volts).

Crappy box package and absolutely no freebies are the only downsides to it.

As we have said before though....its all about 'each to their own'.

Wait a few weeks and I'll do that for you

My PSU just died so I didn't hesitate to order the MODU82+ as a replacement as I can't wait a week for the RMA to go through. Been wanting this PSU since it came out; modular, 25A on each of its 3 12v rails, raving reviews and extremely high efficiency. What more could you want from a PSU, its spec is far above anything else in its league
