BSOD....n00b in need of help..

I have been reading threads / forums for a day straight, and I can still not find a way to help me determine why I am experiencing BSOD's..

I personally suspect its the RAM...

My computer never had any issues until I upgraded ram / psu / gpu & hdd... (around 4-5months ago)

The ram was bought 2nd hand off ebay (I KNOW! )

The error happens randomly, and has happened whilst browsing the internet..and happened whilst gaming.

I cant find the minidump C:Windows/Minidump does not exist for me..
I have also tried to get memtest to work, but cant seem to install it.

Please, please, please help :-(

It never gives me enough time to write it down...I know you can set the PC not to automatically restart, but I read somewhere that by not restarting it may severly damage the PC..

its the 1st thing most of us do on a fresh install

download a copy of memtest86, burn the iso to a cd (use imgburn if you dont have software to do this), reboot, and sit back and see what happens

Ok, I have unchecked the automatically restart box, what exactly am I to write down? (I guess I could take a photo of it)

should the pc not be saving the error's in a log somwhere?

It says my minidump is: %SystemRoot%\Minidump , however I cant find it anywhere

In my experiance most random BSOD's are either solved by memory or PSU
if the memory checks out as ok please post some system specs

is this a homebuild ?

AMD64 3200
2GB Kingston PC3200 DDR
CorsairVX 450W PSU
500GB Seagate 7200.11 32MB SATA HDD
512MB 8800GT BFG OC2
ASROCK 939 DUAL SATA Mobo

Just Bluescreened again..ran for the camera..came back and it had restarted... the box is still unchecked.

have you cleaned all the crap out, it may be overheating and resetting ?

Having just lost a mobo myeslf through summertime overheating...

Check that all the fans are running up, and if the PC is guarenteed to reboot, open up the case and have a desk fan blasting into it. Run up the machine and see if it reboots on you.

OK, ran memtest via a CD on bootup and it found no error's (took around 2hours to complete).

Does this mean that the ram is clear?

Next step...see if heat is causing the problem (my cables do appear untidy)
