    After a MOBO

Im after a motherboard to get my sons pc up n running. I prefer MSI, it has to be for PC3200 184 PIN ram with Sata ports as his HD is Sata and the chip is an Athlon 64 3800+ with standard Heatsink/fan...and it has to be PCI Express. Only need one PCI slot, nothing TOO fancy.
The story is he had an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum with an AGP slot. The Mobo died along with the Graphics card. This was a BFG 6600GT AGP which without question was replaced by BFG with....a BFG6600GT PCI Exp. Seeing as I have to replace his motherboard seems daft to get BFG to send what would have been the right and identical card, may as well move him along to PCI exp.
What do you think, hoping for a mobo £30 ish or less, not bothered if its used...all suggestions welcome...cheers...Alan

    Re: After a MOBO

The only Socket 939 motherboard available on Scan is this

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=772035

In fact in the places I looked this is the only board I found and at £50 seems a bit expensive for a dead end upgrade.

Ebay may have more products available a quick search found these,
    Gigabyte GA-K8N-SLI
    Asus A8N SLi
    Asus A8N-VM
    DFI Lanparty nf4

I'm sure the are plenty more (I only picked a few)

Other than that I guess the upgrade would be new mobo (AM2 690 - £35), cpu (AM2 4850e 2.5GHz dual core £38) and ram (2GB DDR2-800 £25) which would cost you less than £100 and give you a better system over all you could also sell the current processor and Ram to reclaim some of the costs.
