    Considering cpu upgrade , worth it ?

    i am Considering upgrading my current cpu (xp2600+ t/b) to a xp3000 barton (333fsb) , would it be worth it and if so how much faster would it be ?

    Probably not. Have you o/c'ed the current one? Also depends on your other system components really.

    my mobo supports the xp3200 (msi kt6 delta lsr) , but i cannot afford the ddr400 mem as well so i would like to stick to 333fsb (present mem 1024 m/b ddr333

    i tried changing the multiplier from 12.5 but in the bios it says 12.5/13 , and it locks the comp up at 14x166 , any ideas ?

    ps: my cpu cooler is a q-tec enhanced overclocker hs/f (i know its a dreaded qtec )

    Have you tried giving the tweaking the fsb a bit? A combination of the two may work. You might have to lower the mem timings though.

    will that damage the ram ? , its major on third ddr333

    might need a little more voltage then, try a little more and see how you go, keep a eye on the temps, if you have a good cooler 1.85v is about the top you wanna go.
