Namely 2500 mobile barton cooling

What is everyone using? Im thinking of getting on at some point but i need some good cooling to go with it. I have a 1700 at 2.2 at the moment with a coolermaster x dream on- coolings great but its too noisy.

Water coolings a bit out of my pricerange and skill range so can anyone reccomend a good hsf. I have been looking at this http://www.cpucitystore.co.uk/catalo...roducts_id=453 and thinking of putting a 92mm papst on top, not a cheap solution of air coolling either but worth considering.

So what are you mobile barton users using ?

Yeah, SLK's are class. I used a SLK800 for aages with a 80mm pabst. Did an admirable job. Still hav it if u want it.

I would use my old SLK900 if I hadn't upgraded to water

My m8 has my old one now and its doing an excellent job on his 2500

i use a Volcano 12 as well.
Does the job & you can turn the fan rpm up & down to suit your needs.
It is a bit noisy used at 5700rpm though

I know the chips a bit old and everything but im cooling my sisters thunderbird 1.3ghz with a coolermaster x-dream at 32C. This is on the lowest speed so its nearly silent Also when i turn it up to full i can get it to about 28C but its bloody noisy.

I use a Thermaltake silent boost. It's dead quiet, really quiet, and it keeps my 2500+ (over clocked to 3200+) at 38 degrees constantly, highest i've ever seen it is 48, that was on a really hot day last year. Not only that, it's dirt cheap form ebuyer, I couldn't recommend it enough. And i'm using the supplied thermal compound that came with it.

I use an Alpha PAL 8045 with a 120mm convertor and a 120mm Antec fan set to low on a Zalman fan mate controller. It's almost silent and it keeps my 2500+ (non-mobile) at 2.3GHz at around 50 degrees, and it is actually silent in comparison to my hard disks which are the noisiest things in the system (2 Maxtor DM+9s in RAID 0).

My 2500-m is cooled by an slk-800 (thanks 0id!) cooled by 92mm zalman fan,bracket and fanmate (thanks aeonf242!) Keeps it @ 38C priming @ 2.5ghz, 1.675v. Plus itcools my NB and mosfets a treat. Quiet at full speed and silent at the lowest. Everyone should have a 2500-m!
