make sure u dont clock the vcore past 1.36 i heard
Guaranteed low price the Scanshot email says. Is that why the 2500K is still £7 cheaper at Aria
What is the maximum DRAM voltage for these anyway? OCUK seem to be suggesting under 1.6v rather than the 'old' 1.65v.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"

TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
The fastest DDR3 RAM speed was achieved on Intel though, even with their voltage 'requirements'.

are there any other places that build apart from Scan (that are decent)

The fact of the matter is that the you could not use the older DDR3 DIMMs from a socket 775 build on socket 1156 since the voltage was high. Now with socket 1155 you may not be able to use some of the "old" low voltage RAM which worked with a socket 1156 build because the voltage is now too high again.
On top of this above 1600MHZ DDR3 there is hardly any noticeable real world performance improvements anyway and most DDR3 RAM kits on sale for Sandy Bridge ATM have 1333MHZ and 1600MHZ DIMMs AFAIK.
The only people really benefiting from this are the RAM companies.

I resolved myself to assemble tonight, got everthing unpacked and ready to go. Then I hit a snag. I have no idea where I put the LGA1156 (1155 compatible) mounting thing for the Titan Fenrir that is currently mounted on my LGA775 processor. As you can imagine, my house now looks like a complete tip as I'm a fan of the search method that invovles removing as much stuff as possible from its storage and throwing it on the floor and you will eventually find what you are looking for.
Its come up short so far! Because the original Fenrir didnt come with the 1156 compatibility you can actually buy them very cheaply. But because mine came with it I feel like I should find it! Plus I actually had time to build tonight.
ARGGRR!!!!
Just use the stock cooler for now?

The thing is with me being so short on time I kind of want to stick to a single assembly as much as possible, fitting the stock cooler will not be what I want to do long term and changing the cooler with mb installed in case will be next to impossible!
Ebuyer tends to skimp on the PSU AFAIK and I am not sure about Dabs either.
1.38 is what's said - but I won't be pushing things to the absolute limit (even at default clock it'll be considerably quicker than my Q6600 @ 3ghz.
I went for the corsair RAM because of the 1.5Vs it required - not for any other reason than it might be cooler. I did read of someone buying a 1.45V kit though. I'd be happy at a mere 4ghz, but i'll probably go for 4.5 ish.
Exactly the same as I've just had delivered (except for the memory!)
I'm waiting to see what the good Mr Clunk has to say about voltages etc.; I doubt I'll put the system together before the weekend and I'll be letting the TIM on my H70 bed in for a while anyway before any tweaking attempts.
Welcome to the club
Yeah it'll be interesting to see what Clunk says (and others) as time goes on. I doubt i'll overclock for the first week anyway - as I said i'll already get a healthy speed boost and I prefer to make sure i'm stable before I begin cranking things
EK Supreme HF Copper block arrived so i'm all set!
You have to remember Intel is primarily designing products for people who buy complete systems. There's no requirement to carry over ram, and designing a memory controller to cope with higher voltage than necessary creates additional cost and performance compromises. If the whole thing is meant to be energy efficient then why not lower the voltages where you can? It's a good move IMHO.
