Still only 44 results after two weeks and even then it was only due to multiple results by some members!! Surely,we can have many more results in the next few weeks??

Re: Hexus HandBrake charts - who has the greatest multi-threaded POWER!!??

I'm trying to run this on my laptop but it's only using 4 cores. Any idea how to up the thread count?

    Seems a bit unfair otherwise

Edit: PS, with four cores going, BBB - 28.036083fps average. Forgot to set priority to high but probably doesn't matter much since there's another four cores sitting there for anything else. I might rerun it later anyway. i7-2820QM 4 threads used out of 8 (4 cores with hyperthreading). 2.3GHz CPU but dynamic overclocking to 3.1GHz with 4C active.
Splice - fps 19.390598. Set to high this time. Also reran this one with default priority (Below Normal) and just came back with fps 19.394262 duration 169s.
Tron - fps 28.657740 duration 123s priority high

All three using 4 threads of 8 possible.

Re: Hexus HandBrake charts - who has the greatest multi-threaded POWER!!??

Not sure why that is, it uses all cores by default for me - check for thread count in options. Also, with it being a laptop, check for any OEM software which manages power profiles or whatever - it might be limiting thread count to increase battery life.

Re: Hexus HandBrake charts - who has the greatest multi-threaded POWER!!??

I can't see any thread options in Options or anywhere else

Also I'm on mains power and power management settings is on Balanced (and I did a clean install of Windows so there's practically no OEM software on here).

    V confusing

Edit: also tried using SSD as source path with internal HDD as write path, no difference. And SSD as both source and destination though that's probably slower than the former.

You have to change the core affinity setting in task manager.

Core affinity is set to all cores?

Re: Hexus HandBrake charts - who has the greatest multi-threaded POWER!!??

Alright an update from my ultraportable (SU2300, 1.2GHz dual core, 4GB RAM, not overclocked):

    BBB - 4.670671 fps, 657s
    Splice - 3.231537 fps, 1010s
    Tron - 4.664486fps, 760s.

Oh and my other machine had W7Pro x64, 8GB RAM.

So it's official then, atoms really do suck - if a hyperthreaded 1.6GHz is 2.5x as slow as my 1.2GHz ULV
