You don't seem to have the older Phenom II 940 BE so here are my efforts:

    Big Bunny: 21.483717 fps
    Splice : 14.8325 fps
    Tron : 21.585876 fps

    4/4 threads
    3.0 GHz

    edit:
    OS : Win 7 Pro 64
    RAM: 4GB

Erm... I tried running handbrake Tron on my P3 laptop, twice.
It shut the (otherwise stable) machine off, twice

Prior to that though, for the first minute or so I saw Handbrake report an average FPS of 001.1

Looking at the chart again I am surprised the Phenom II X4 scores I posted were better than the latest Core i3!

Alright folks, you got me tempted on getting into the top 10 ladder, so what do I need to do?

What software do I need for all this?

Thanks, BTW, perhaps I missed the info on the first page, my apologies.

I don't see why, this is very specifically aimed at multiple cores, the i3 is only a dual core cpu, granted with hyper it looks like 4 threads, but there's a big limit to hyper threading, it slow down the processing when continuously trying to process lots of data.
What it's good for is short bursts of interconnected data, to help speed up the list of pending processing jobs.
As a massive over simplification, it can pause one job and start another so that the que never gets hung up by one long job, so for multi-tasking ie not slowing the rest of the system down while doing a task at the same time, it's a good system but for doing a single task that demands everything it's got hyper-threading is not much use.

Also remember this isn't using the GPU as an APU to speed anything up.

It's quite a dated article so not entirely applicable to modern implementations but still an interesting read: http://www.anandtech.com/show/868

Edit: And some more pages I've found, not read them myself yet but if you're interested...

Upgraded my PC last night (well, more of a sidegrade in preparation for Bulldozer.) Q9300 -> Athlon II X3 450. After the disappointment of being unable to unlock 4th core or L3 cache I OCd it to 4GHz. I'll run handbrake on it tonight if CAT reminds me. It'll be interesting to see how it holds up at that speed.

System specs found with my profile.

    BBB - 29.418669 fps
    Splice - 20.238352 fps
    Tron - 28.527014 fps

Not too bad for an old dog I'll do this again when I do my upgrade.

Re: Hexus HandBrake charts - who has the greatest multi-threaded POWER!!??

Well I was waiting for Bulldozer but having read the reviews I am not convinced the FX-8150 at £199 is worth going for over a Phenom X6 1100T @ £147.

So picked up an 1100t. So far I am very very impressed with the CPU as I am only running on a cheapo Gigabyte GA-880GM with cheapo Corsair PC1333 ram and a cheapo Silverstone 500wPSU the whole lot was under £300.

So here is my handbrake entry.
    4GB DDR3 1333 RAM
    Windows 7 x32

    1100T @ 4.42 Ghz 260fsb x 17 running budget watercoolling loop with single 120mm rad.
Max temp under handbrake testing 48 degrees c.

It clearly aint gonna kick intel off the number one spot but then I didnt pay £700 for my CPU either

I would like to slot in a bulldozer to do a direct comparison but I aint buiying one just to find out its slower too risky.

So here is my handbrake entry.

It clearly aint gonna kick intel off the number one spot but then I didnt pay £700 for my CPU either

I would like to slot in a bulldozer to do a direct comparison but I aint buiying one just to find out its slower too risky.

Great score!! However,I would be careful overclocking a Phenom II X6 on a motherboard with only a 4 phase VRM, as you can burn it out. IIRC,it has happened before.
