amiga 500 with second floppy drive!! , was blessed with having my uncle work from our study as an office.. had loads of PC's in there to play around on... started off buying panrix rig's.. cyrix 166 was my first personal purchase, then it was a pentium 233, then £2500 on the highest spec rig of the day a PII 400, with on-board SCSI-3, SCSI hdd's... etc, then started on athlon's.. slot-a 600, then a socket-a 1gig t-bird, then a 1700+ pally, and now a 1700+ t-bred.. all representing different machines... tried watercooling for a bit, but got bitten by the SFF bug.

A BBC... then an Acorn A5000 (I spent ages playing the demos on the cover disks of Acorn magazines- Car Wars was the bestest!)... then a 486DX-50 (fond memories of Theme Park remain).

First proper x86 PC running Windows? I had a 2nd hand Ambra 386DX, I think @ 50MHz, 8MB of mem. It ran Doom! Oh the joys of custom DOS boot disks just to run games.

First was some Acorn, just used to play demo games like some guy above me - then several years later a 100mhz mac, then a P200 with MMX!
Cor, I wonder how much all this lot cost at the time :/

Amstrad 386SX 20Mhz. Then I moved onto a Time (awful, I know) 486-DX4 100Mhz, then a Special Reserve (not much better) P-200Mhz, then an Advent P2-400Mhz, then a Dell P3-500Mhz and finally my current custom-built AMD XP2200+.

My first PC was a AST Advantage
    486 DX2 66, 8MB EDO ram, 512MB HD, Soundblaster 16.
    State of the art

It could play Day of the tentacle, Xwing, Ultima underworld, Leisure suit larry, System shock..
(Why do these old games seem better than a lot of the new ones)

Was bought for a grand total of 1,500 pounds, and was upgrade less than 6 months later to a DX4 100mhz for another 250.

    Amstrad

    486 SX2 50Mhz
    4MB RAM
    270MB HDD
    2X CD ROM
    14" Monitor

    Classy machine... lol.

I have some fun memories of it though, tie fighter, SWOS and the lucasarts adventure games.
