I too use Overclockers...i took a Radeon 9800SE that was borked straight out of the box...(previous rma number obtained) they took it in, and as they were out of stock of it said they'd post a new one to me as soon as they were back in stock.

Found them to be nothing but helpful....Microdirect on the other hand GRRRRR

Still out. They now have the motherboard and 9800pro again, and (I assume) are testing it as we speak. I expect an email from them very shortly, and then we can sort out a replacement, or idealy, a refund.

As soon as I know anything, Hexus will as well.

Monster thread... looks like there is a big interest in this sort of thing. Hexus should get a section devoted to it, as previously mentioned...

I find ocuk to be a good company to work with, mainly because if they dont do me a good price (as i order in bulk) ill order from ebuyer.

Its a strange situation but ive had worse. This wasnt by the company thou. I had ordered a barebones system from a retailer (i forget the name now) and it was delivered by securicor. The box was the rolled down my drive dislodging all the major internal components. I therefore refused 2 sign for it, and asked for it to be returned to sender. At this point the delivery driver got very anoyed as there were no fragile stickers on the side of the box. In the end i relutancly accepted the box. Then i phoned the company but they said i had to take it up with securicor as it was insured by them. So i phoned securicor but they said it was the companies fault for not putting fragile lables on the side. Eventually the company concided and sent me the lables. 3 weeks later i had the system and an apology of £50.

good luck m8, btw this may have been covered, but there is alot to read.

Were the components tested by them selfs? Eg, not with the video card and mobo at the same time? maybe they dont like each other, rather than both being broken? just a though

Good luck anyway m8, they are broken, just thought i would make the comment incase this does go further, your better to know now!

Just something that the people saying that his PSU could have destroyed the components. You seem to be missing the point, if it did infact break those 2 parts, then why are OCUK still claiming that the components work?

    heh, madness.

I wouldn't be thinking like that bud TBH, I have had a bad experience with them so i wont go back but other havent and like every one else has said this could have been Tekheads/komplett/ebuyer etc etc

You take your chance with no matter who! the best way to do it is just go with the cheapiest at the time and hope for the best.

tis ashame someone from OCUK couldn't be invited??

They are welcome to post their comments.

www.romulus2.com has a feedback chart which is the best way to choose a consistently good retailer. OcUK come near the bottom, well below Tekheads/Komplett/ebuyer, so I know which I'd choose.

Very handy that romulus2 site is. However some idiot called MHampton has said this "It is quite obvious that many negative comments made here are by people who have an axe to grind because they have been banned from the Overclockers UK discussion forums" WTF!

What a shallow remark when so many customers have had disgraceful service from said company.

Their ordering and delivery service isn't in question - it's brilliant! The problem is when things go wrong and how they sort it. Fortunately, my outstanding credit issue has now been resolved - the benefits of copying in the MD

Comment from OcUK would be welcome, but I doubt that they would wish to discuss a specific customer service issue in a public forum, and I don't blame them for that. I wouldn't either, if I was running that kind of business.

They've never used their own forums (or not to my knowledge, anyway) for this purpose, so I doubt they'll do it elsewhere.
