E4300 Overclocking Thread

The only problem being is the BIOS on the IB9 is pretty basic, wondering if that'd screw things up.

Will go for it slowly, probably 200Mhz increments. stress it for a few hours then see how it goes. Can see at the moment that with my Arctic 7 at 50% (and damn near silent) Cores are running at a contant 35/36, which isn't too bad I to be honest.

Will see how it goes and what happens.

Those temps are good, but once you add some voltage, you can kiss them goodbye although, saying that, this 4300 runs considerably cooler than the 6600 that I had.

Modest clock of 2.2Ghz at the moment, Core's are being read at a constant 44 degrees, got MBM 5 set up and working perfectly. Again, thats with the fan running at 40%

Grab coretemp and TAT and they will probably all show different temps, but it kind of gives you an idea.

Using a core temp plug in for MBM5, reads the individual core temps and they scale with the load pretty well. Orthos is running at 2.4 now as it went through 11 and a half hours at 2.2

Might be tempted to do C2D on a budget, see what I can get. (already running 2ghz Core Duo in my laptop - it flies )

Has anyone tried overclocking these processors with DDR1 RAM? Or on ASRock motherboards? I don't expect the results to be as good, but I'd like to know if it's worth me trying with my E4300... (I have the ASRock 775Dual-VSTA, and 775i945GZ boards)

Try it and see, I dont think the Asrock allows much in the way of fsb or extra vcore though.

I've barely looked at the BIOS on them, been too busy _using_ my PCs. Supposedly they have no voltage controls at all.

You should be able to up the fsb a bit though.

Mines sitting at 2.6Ghz at 1.3V, been on that for a little over an hour now. Temps aren't too bad, I think it's maxed out at 51 degrees on the core and the Freezer 7 Pro still hasn't spun up at all.
