    Re: E4300 Overclocking Thread

I just got an E4300 for my brother, but may well keep it, I got it to 3.6 at a shade over 1.45V though the heat seemed a bit high and I am not too keen on operating it over 1.4V (though mine seemed to default to 1.325V so it isn't that much of an increase) anyway I am curently running it stable at 3.3ghz at 1.405V (will boot at upto 3.4ghz at this but fails orthos after a while)

    Re: E4300 Overclocking Thread

    Hi guys,

I've got a problem i was hoping someone might be able to throw some light on.
I'm currently running an FP-IN9 MoBo with an E4300.

When I first built the this system 6 months ago I whacked it straight up to FSB1333 on first attempt to get 3.0ghz. No other adjustments to any voltages needed needed at all. Kept is like that for a few weeks, then it decided to not boot up anymore (cannot remember whether it was related to BIOS update) No hardware changes otherwise. Just couldnt boot at 1333 I left it at FSB 1066 for the next 3 months as had no time to try OC again. Despite updating the BIOS at the time i could not get it above ~ FSB1120 anymore.. just wont boot. need to reset PC ..then it will autolaunch the failsafe and restore to stock speeds.

I have since upgraded PSU to OCX XStream 600W and a freezer PRO 7. upped voltages to 1.425 just to see if it was that. slacked RAM timings right down to slowest possible (Geil DDR2-800 ) still no avail.. only get up to FSB1120 @ 2.5ghz now...

To make matters worse.. I just updated BIOS to the latest 15 and cannot even get past FSB1066 ...

from a first attempt at a stable FSB1333 to barely able to remain stable at 1066 now.. have I cooked a chip ? or the MoBo is faulty...? which is the best BIOS to attemp OC again?

OH.. vid cards are 7900GT SLi ( i did initially started with 1 card, but i have removed the 2nd card again just to see if that contributed to the problem, although i cannot imagine how.) still doesnt help..

    Help/ Advice/ Suggestions/ Insight appreciated

    Yours truly-slow-processor-right-now,
    Paul Y

    Re: E4300 Overclocking Thread

Why not go back to the original BIOS that did allow 1333?
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

Just ran Orthos 24 hours at 3.3(1.4V and it isn't stable, seems to be fine at 1.425V though, So I am fairly sure that the 3.6 at 1.45 won't be fully stable and too keep it at that I will need better cooling on this and bump the voltage..

    @ EtheAv8r

I was trying to but couldnt find BIOS 13 on Abit website (got it now from their FTP server thanks to another forum member)

Actually i seem to have solved my problem sort of.. i just have to run it at 1333 or more with vCore fixed to 1.325 rather than auto. I seem to have a FSB hole between 801 and 1332.... anyone else has a hole this big ??? ( that statement doesnt soudn quite right.. )

    Re: E4300 Overclocking Thread

Updated to the latest bios for the P35-E and now the temps have dropped by ~10C load (must have been an error reporting the higher temps) and I can now get another 200mhz from it at the same 1.405V orthos 36hrs stable.

Surfice to say my brother got my old A64 system and I decided to keep the intel setup
