lol you warcrack addicts I know your pain

Currently a troll hunter level 28 and flying through quests with this newly rolled hunter. I was totally kicking a bubbleboys rear in Hillsbrad last night and they were 4 levels higher than me, but my pet and arrows decimated them twice within 5 minutes

I am surprised at the economy on my new server.

20 light leather going for around 90s, 20 silverleaf going for 1g 20s. Crazy!

I know, darksorrow is the same at the moment with some items going for seriously crazy money.

I suppose this is what happens once people start to purchase gold from gold farming vendors online

I highly doubt it's anything to do with that. Since Blizzard introduced dailies at 70, it's incredibly easy to grind money fast. With 1 level 70 you can easily grind well over 100g in under an hour doing the Shattered Sun Offensive dailies, and I have 5 70's available to do them with. So if I wanted to, I could grind 500g per day JUST doing the dailies in Quel'Danas. Add to that the multitude of easy dailes available from Shattrath and Skettis, daily BG quests, daily heroic quests and the money you get from running heroics, you can easily grind hundreds of gold a day just with one char.

Now, with all this money floating around with level 70's, what are they gonna do with it all? They create alts. What do they do with the alts? Power level them. They buy all the best gear available since they can afford it, and they will pay lots of money for low-mid level materials used for their professions which they can (and will) also power level. I know, I've done it myself. I spent 1k gold power levelling BS to 375 (had most of the mats myself), 2k gold power levelling JC to 375 (damn those mid level gems are REALLY expensive) and Engineering on 2 chars which I can't remember how much it cost. I'm also in the process of getting the mats together to power level Enchanting, but tbh, I'm doing that myself as grinding green's and blue's in low-mid level instances is not only easier than buy the really expensive enchanting mats, but also highly satisfying!

Yes, a lot of people buy gold for real money, but I bet I could earn more a week than they could buy from a gold seller if I tried.

Re: Who's still playing WoW then?

Ahh, was it Stoo then who played Isadrel?

I can't remember that far back, haven't played on Arathor for years either, since Jan '06 IIRC.

I wonder how many of you remember my Druid from all those years back called Rentau? I stopped playing him around level 30 on Arathor, he's now my main. Kerilus is still around too but only lvl 62, same as Bouncer (now called Scury as Bouncer was taken on my current server).

Oh and 53, 46, 35, etc etc before you ask

Lightbringer's economy went crazy when they extend auctions from 24 to 48hrs max.
Beforehand Vision Dust was 20-30s each. Immediately after it hit 1g and only occasionally drops that low now.

A servers economy swings when the number of max level characters hits breaking point. After that new players will take twice as long to level as the items they need to level quickly are priced beyond their means.

Wasn't Stoo playing a char called Az? I remember the name Isadrel but can't remember who played him.

Its sad that i remember all those chars Allen I also remember you saying that you'd never get a char to 60

Slacker I'll end up getting my Lock and my other Druid to 70 before you get a 60 And their both lvl16 atm

As for server economy, i love it when i can sell a stack of Copper ore for 1g50-2g or a stack of light leather for 1g. Makes levelling up more fun when i know that at the end of an evening i can go to the AH knowing i'm going to be making lots of lovely gold

Plenty of new marriages happen because of WoW though too, so there's always that silver lining
