That is the MOST sickening comment you have made.Bingo. You know, one of the ironies of this is that Blitzen was apparently sent to Iraq; and he was sent there on the basis of a tissue of falsehoods, vested interests and unwarranted assumptions. The people that he's so keen to vilify are the ones who are saying "Hang on; before we send people like Blitzen in harm's way, we want a damned good reason. We don't want our servicemen and women to have their lives risked or indeed lost on the basis of a bunch of lies." Ah well, no good deed goes unpunished, eh, directhex ?
I indeed have had 2 tours in Iraq. I went because:
a) It was my job
b) Because i went in the forces to give people like you the freedom to say what they like, when they like (Gods knows why. I even have to question that one after some of small minded things you have said.
c) It was the CORRECT thing to do.
The country is unstable yes!!!! But the world is now free of a MAJOR threat to life as we know it....the means certainly justified the ends.
And FYI......the streets of Iraq are not safe by any means, but the people, or the vast majority of them, actually appreciate not having to live under a dictatorship anymore.
That would obviously be impossible to comprehend if you have done nothing in that vein before.
Its a pride thing and when people like you knock what has been done you should be ashamed.
You are obviously a very ill informed individual.
You resort to flame in a discussion which, by your own admission, your facts come from newspapers.
You are indeed making yourself look very stupid.
I look forward to your next weak comment and hope that you never have to stand up and do the right thing as by the looks of it you wouldnt have the courage or mentality judging by your posts here.
Oh the irony of your post...

That was a close one.
Honestly though, I was going to report Blitzen for racism, but didn't since I couldn't even take me seriously, so how were the mods going to react.
Anyway.
Blitzen. You don't sound very bright. Or informed. Or articulate. Possibly barely literate. You read the Sun, don't you? And sleep with prostitutes it seems.
Phew, glad to get that out. I'd been holding it in, but it can't be good for me.

haha....typical comment....My at least my sentences are constructed........
BTW......Whats your mums name again ?
Life is a git and people have to stand up to be counted.
Whether you agree or disagree with what happened is not the point.
The point is, when things are bad, you are either on one side or the other.
Its obvious to me that some of you are sitting on the wrong side of the fence and thats shameful.
I just hope that one day, your sons, daughters, grandchildren never have to have this argument as im sure you views would change instantly and realise how some of the things you have said could come back to haunt you.
Thats enough from me now and i will read from now on as we all keep saying the same thing over over with no hope of common ground.
Just out of interest i've been doing some reading up on the hostage situation, and Iran captured American service men in 1979/1980
http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/d...00/2506807.stm
It took 444 days to get them released.

The embassy situation that led to the fiasco at Desert One and ended the Carter presidency. Remember it quite well; although it wasn't (as was portrayed at the time) some sort of military incompetence - as I recall, one of their C130s basically blew up, killing some of their people and damaging a load of their equipment.
A major threat in what sense?
What suddenly changed in Iraq between Desert Storm and March 2003, to make a tired and dated regime suddenly a threat on an international scale?
There are greater threats to world stability that have been ignored, such as DPRK. There are greater humanitarian areas that have been ignored, such as Sudan.
Why an irrelevant country run by a tired old dictator?
Better men and women than you have risked and lost far more - and done so without deluding themselves about the lies that lead to military action.
I don't think its any coincidence that another fleet of American aircraft carriers have turned up in the Gulf now...4 days early I might add. Do you think Tony put in a sly call to his mate Bush. Just a little reminder to Iran that we are best mates with the States and they are itching for an excuse???
I'd rather have a "special relationship" with the Americans than the French. I can't see them helping us get our guys back.
The French have helped us before; during the Falklands, they halted arms shipments to Argentina immediately upon receiving news of the Argentinian invasion, before we'd even requested it. They also provided detailed schematics of the Exocet, on the basis that that might help our ships to defend against it. They also sent Air Force Mirages and Navy Super Etendards to the UK with experienced pilots for our Harrier pilots to train against.
Also, while they opposed Iraq, look at the allies list for Afghanistan:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operati...s#.C2.A0France
Over 4,000 personnel including 3,500 for the Marine Nationale (one CVBG, comprising the FS Charles de Gaulle, frigates La Motte-Picquet, Jean de Vienne and Jean Bart, the nuclear attack submarine Rubis, the tanker Meuse and the aviso Commandant Ducuing) 600 ground troops and 600 from the Armée de l'Air (12 Mirage 2000, Mirage F1 and Mirage IV ground-attack and reconnaissance aircraft). A French task force composed of soldiers from the 21st Marine Infantry Regiment deployed on November 17, 2001, to Mazar-e Sharif. Six French soldiers have died during OEF (as well as 3 under ISAF): all 6 in various hostile incidents.
In 2001 and beginning again in the summer of 2003, 200 soldiers from various units of the Army Special Forces Brigade (BFST), including marine and air commandos, have conducted operations against the Taliban, under command and in co-operation with U.S. special operations forces present in the area.
Sorry, my opinion may be fairly tainted on this matter and nobody will change it.
I visited Paris whilst French "protesters" desecrated graves of English veterans of WW2 and spat on British tourists in the street as we went to war in Iraq.
Paris...self proclaimed European "centre of culture"
They do not need to have the abilty to lauch a major strike. All they need its one religious zealot with some chemicals and no respect for human life to get on a plane and blow it up over a city.
