i think its selfish if u stink, yeh some people sweat more, but over doing the deodorant and smellies will help. Nothing worse sitting next to someone who reeks. Id tell em, if i needed to

Re: Should you/Could you tell someone they smell?

All depends on the smell if its just BO i really dont care but if the dude smells of poo then something has gotta be said. What i really hate is women who put so much purfume on that its like breathing in toxic chemicals. Little bit of purfume love not like half a bottle on you it tastes horrible when your kissing their neck and stuff.

Everyone smells, unless they have sinus trouble. That's what noses are for.

Re: Should you/Could you tell someone they smell?

So don't be subtle then. I had to tell a (former) colleague that he stank because he wasn't getting the hint from his boss and his boss didn't have the balls to tell it to him straight.

It wasn't a particularly enjoyable thing to have to say but I reserve the right to tell someone they stink if I have to open the window and spray air freshener every time they walk into my office.

Re: Should you/Could you tell someone they smell?

We had a problem with someone here, everyone knew who it was but the boss decided it would be best to make out we didn't and send an e-mail saying "someone" has an odour issue and could they please do something about it.

    Seems to have worked!

Re: Should you/Could you tell someone they smell?

At Asda it says in the handbook rules that 'colleagues' (as they like to call them O.o) must follow basic hygene procedures and be showered, wear laundered clothes and use a deoderant. It even mentions keeping a bottle of deoderant in your locker to make sure everyone gets the idea.

Work with food and customers? Simple rule... Do not smell!

But they dont care what you look like as long as you follow the dress code. You can have a beard too.

Re: Should you/Could you tell someone they smell?

Its funny this thread should come up because a girl in my office (good friend in fact) told me I stank just last week!

I was at her desk and she just turned around to me and says 'You stink of youghurt'. I was a bit taken aback, but I had dranka yop 2 hours earlier so I asked her if I smelled faintly like yop, she said that it was exactly what she could smell. Cue 'Holy crap Im sweating yop' reaction.

At least she told me so I could reach for the deoderant.

oh and Holy thread rvival batman!

Re: Should you/Could you tell someone they smell?

Well, I have faced this alot of times, wanting to tell people they stink, I follow one simple way, I dont tell him/her in front of a 3rd person, I simply take them aside maybe, and casually tell them, hey, i think i can smell something off you, maybe its just me then i apply a deo if its handy, that is enough to make the other person conscious and usually they check up on themselves the next day and use deo
