I've tried 3 times today to find out if my RMA has arrived (hasn't according to the status!) but it just rings and rings and rings. For so long one time that the phone battery ran out. I explained Friday that this is urgent and I was promised it would be marked as that, tested on arrival and then a replacement sent out the same day. But how can I know what's going on if they won't answer?!
Fourth time now. 7 minutes and finally got through! Sounded like they were in a rush to get the call over and done with (spoke to fast I could barely understand! ). Very strange...
EDIT: Just after the call ended I got an email saying the board isn't faulty?!
The problem was that it would only post with memory in the B slot. I tried both the supplied ram sticks, and my current slower ram sticks (PC6400, 800MHz as opposed to 1066mhz, PC8500) and both times it would seem to short
the board. i.e. no beeps, no monitor...just the fans would spin and then nothing else.
There's no other factors that would effect what was happening, other than the A memory slot causing it to short...
It's just frustrating because even if the board IS working and by some freak coincidence it wouldn't work with the tested ram, it was all sold as a bundle in the today only section, and now I have to fork out more money on a supposed 'compatible' board, even more because my refund is a percentage of the bundle price. And the board from what I can tell just has a better graphics chip?
