    RMA woes, 'working' but wouldn't 'work' for me...

    I've tried 3 times today to find out if my RMA has arrived (hasn't according to the status!) but it just rings and rings and rings. For so long one time that the phone battery ran out. I explained Friday that this is urgent and I was promised it would be marked as that, tested on arrival and then a replacement sent out the same day. But how can I know what's going on if they won't answer?!

    Fourth time now. 7 minutes and finally got through! Sounded like they were in a rush to get the call over and done with (spoke to fast I could barely understand! ). Very strange...

    EDIT: Just after the call ended I got an email saying the board isn't faulty?!

    The problem was that it would only post with memory in the B slot. I tried both the supplied ram sticks, and my current slower ram sticks (PC6400, 800MHz as opposed to 1066mhz, PC8500) and both times it would seem to short
    the board. i.e. no beeps, no monitor...just the fans would spin and then nothing else.
    There's no other factors that would effect what was happening, other than the A memory slot causing it to short...

    It's just frustrating because even if the board IS working and by some freak coincidence it wouldn't work with the tested ram, it was all sold as a bundle in the today only section, and now I have to fork out more money on a supposed 'compatible' board, even more because my refund is a percentage of the bundle price. And the board from what I can tell just has a better graphics chip?

    We will answer its just times are busier than others, I have spoke with Mark who apologises for rushing and explained it was purely because it was so busy at them time. We have fully refunded you in order for you to place a fresh order for the suggested motherboard.

    Thanks for that. I wasn't complaining about him and his help was useful but he did seem in a rush!

    And I appreciate not charging me for the courier, it was a nice gesture. But is there no chance I could get this board with the same bundle percentage taken off? Normally I'd just go ahead and reorder regardless, but this PC is for a friend who had a budget of £320, which is already over by a tenner due to needing a wireless pci card. So a fiver would make a big difference when I have to break the news to her again...! It's just not that fair really because it was all sold a bundle after all...and the support agent said it was more than likely an 'incompatibility' problem... >,<
