Hello, I bought a Razer Deathadder in January 2009 and it has a two year warranty. A problem arose around four months or so ago where it will double click when all i'm doing is single clicking. It was intermittent at first and Razer support suggested applying the latest firmware and updating the drivers which is supposed to fix a double clicking issue in Windows 7. I applied this but the issue continued and I just lived with it so far to avoid the hassle of returning it. Anyway it's got to the point where it's really getting on my nerves, i'll go to close a maximised window and end up closing everything behind it too with only a single click. The worst thing about it is how intermittent the problem is and it's put me off sending it back. Anyway I emailed Razer support for a returns procedure and they have told me to return it to the reseller, which in this case is of course Scan. I'm passing Scan tomorrow afternoon, can I pop in with it and walk out with a replacement or will it be sent back to Razer? I don't want to queue for it to behave perfectly on the test bench and come back with a faulty mouse I'd rather it got sent off to Razer than that although with any luck it'll annoy the returns guys as much as it has me. I've plenty spare mice to be going on with in the mean time if need be albeit not exactly suitable for gaming!
After a bit more googling it turns out quite a lot of people have this issue and have fixed it by opening the mouse up and cleaning the microswitch with WD40/contact cleaner or just replacing it - I don't want to do this as i'm sure it'd void my warranty! Can't understand it getting dirty at all though, won't let anyone touch my mouse or put anything on my (ridiculously expensive Razer) mousemat I imagine Razer have had a bad or cheap batch of microswitches at some point.
Thanks,
Paul
