    Help!!!! Failed Collection

    hello,

Scan arranged for a system to be collected by City Link. They sent out a box too for the PC. They arranged for the courier to come between 3-5pm, but the driver turned up at 12pm. So, he basically dropped off the box, refused to come back between 3 and 5 (I am not home until 4:30, so this is most convenient) as he was supposed to, so, my mother not knowing how to pack the system, just had to accept the box, and the driver just went off.

What happens now? I've tried talking to City Link, and basically, I think the guy I was talking to was speaking out of a certain orifice which was not his mouth. Scan pay you to deliver 3-5pm, that's when it should be done.

What can Scan do? I was told the person who organised it for me would call back, but as I understand he was too busy to be able to do so. This is very urgent, I'd hate to have to wait another couple of days. Scan are closed now, and I leave tommorow before they open. So, I'm praying they've sorted it out themselves.

    City Link

    hello,

Something tells me this is not the first time customers have complained about these guys.

Most of the time I've ordered from Scan, I've had problems with delivery because of City Link. Just now I had another problem with a lazy driver who couldn't be bothered coming for a collection at the right time (which Scan paid them to do), and decided to come at least 3 hours early.

I have just one question. I am absolutely bewildered, why on Earth would Scan, when they concentrate on things like customer service satisfaction, use these guys to deliver their stuff, despite the torrents of complaints???

    Re: City Link

You will hear horror stories about all the courier companys - DHL, Parcel force, TNT, etc I have had stuff both delivered and picked up by City link for Scan, no problems. That said, if you want a courier to pick up at an exact time though you are fresh out of luck - they probably have 50 drops/pickups, and a day to do them, and what with the traffic etc its amazing they get round most of them on most days. There are obviously a few rogue drivers who could'nt give a .... but luckily they are the exception and don't last in the job for too long. Best thing is not to stress but also try to arrange for pickup somewhere convenient - I'm lucky and by talking nicely to the guys at goods-inwards at work they will give/take the package from the courier, without me taking the day-off to wait, and wait, and wait.....!

If only It's as the post from wither describes, I've had deliveries from City Link and have never had a problem, unfortunately you only normally hear of the bad experiences not the good.

    Re: City Link

It also varies from depot to depot, company to company, our local city link guys are pretty good, down to delivering on pretty much the same time of day to both work and home.

    Re: City Link

City Link is a franchise, so some areas are worse than others, London area City Link seems to be very good though.

    Re: City Link

I'm lucky to have a good CityLink depot near me, and the driver for my area is great - but there are obviously problems in certain areas with certain depots that Scan need to sort out.

    Re: Help!!!! Failed Collection

As I won't be here tommorow until 4:30, could you arrange for Ben to call the contact number I gave him, it won't be me who will answer, it will be my mother, and to arrange a time that way? I don't need to be there, it's all ready, packed, to go.

What so are we supposed to keep quiet and let City Link get away with their appalling service then?

No but why open a thread to start a flame war about them when it has been brought up many a time?
