City Link - Bone Idle

Once again City Link fail to deliver and it hs nothing to do with the weather.

The website says i was carded yesterday as the road was inaccessable.
Now...let me get this straight:

a) The road where i live was impassable. It certainly wasn't, not even a touch of ice on it as its a main road.
b) If it was impassable how did i get carded by them?
c) They lied about leaving a card anyway and now i will have to go to Cardiff as they are too stupid and/or lazy to deliver.

Now...i can make allowances as the weather hasn't been great. The driver may have struggled yesterday to complete his deliveries and i am sorry about that.

This order may have been free delivery but thats no good to me if they don't actually bother is it?

But, i don't like being lied to, especially from a company as poor as City Link.

Haha...spose not!
Ive told them to keep the item and i will pick it up from their depot tomorrow morning.
If its not there then i will cancel the order.

I just wish companies would stop using bloody CityLink ... It is a very rare occurrence indeed when they get a delivery right. Usually it is run up to the door and pop a card in and pretend there was no one at home, or just not put a card in and pretend they tried to deliver it.

On my last unfortunate encounter with them, the road I lived on didnt exist. The 2nd try after spending a while on the phone with them, they delivered it to my neighbour because I wasnt it (when I was sitting at home all day waiting for them to turn up).

They are either extremely incompetent or take on more orders than they can cope with - the end result being remarkably similar.

Many companies use them becuase they are by far the cheapest 'mainstream' courier.

UPS are fantastic but very expensive.

I just want to make the point that this has nothing to do with Scan.
AS always, their service has been fantastic!

I've had a very similar problem - esp them not leaving cards. I've already PM'd ChrisP about this.

It's a shame that CL's service reflects on Scan.

I wont order from any company that uses City Link anymore, leaving a £200 graphics card on my doorstep (terraced house with no garden front) was the last straw for me.

I am fortnaute in that I live only 5 mins drive from Scan so I just go order at the counter

Why do you say that?

If City Link are rubbish (as they are) then why should it be locked?

BTW...No delivery today either...SUPRISE SUPRISE

NOTE:
I got my order this morning! (Saturday)
I had to do a 40 mile round trip though because City Link would send the parcel back to you otherwise.

They are poor!!!!

I have had the invisible "missed delivery" cards too. They only gave me a card when I rang them and told them (four missed deliveries, two separate orders - one card.)

I assume the drivers get paid by the delivery? (ie. if they attempt to deliver the same thing 3 times then they get more money?)

Still, Scan themselves have always been top quality.

iv never had a problem with city link either. maybe its just driver and area dependant? my city link guy is a nice guy

Either way - when I need something within a time limit, companies which use CityLink are off limits. Simple and works.
