    Delayed Order Notification emails

I put a 7950GX2 on pre-order the other day and low and behold I get a Delayed Order Notification email.

Umm it's on pre-order so of course you not got any in stock

However what is worse and a little insulting is the
    Suggested Replacement = 512M BFG 8600 GT OC2 THERMOINT £96.00 Ex. VAT
Slightly cheaper and DX10 ( so usefull for XP )

    But come on a 8600GT vs 7950GX2 ???

    Silly automated responce e-mails

    Re: Delayed Order Notification emails

    Ummm why?

I know it's out of stock and on pre-order waiting for new stock to come in.
I'm quite happy to wait for it.

I was just pointing out the rather silly Automated Delayed Order Notification email I got.
As I was fully aware that it's not in stock and that the stock is overdue.
Also pointing out the rather bad sugested replacement card.

EDIT: just noticed that the 7950gx2 has been removed.

That's pure cheek, I don't blame Chris for removing the card completely. You sir can kiss goodbye to your pre-order LMFAO

    Re: Delayed Order Notification emails

The 7950GX2 is old and might be hard for Scan to get hold of.

Scan has the 7950GX2 listed (or re-listed as you said it had been removed).
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
Just over £116! that's a damn lot of card for your money.

At the very least Scan should Suggest an 256MB 8800GT which is more powerful for the same money but you get a lot less ram.

Giving your invoice number to Chris may allow you to get a better offer....

I don't think so, 4 GPU's vs 1, its a no brainer two 7950GX2's running in SLI will own a 8800GT. It also depends on what resolution he is using but a single 512MB 8800GT would be a good choice over two 7950GX2 and when the price drops he could buy up another 8800GT which would give better performance than the ageing 7950GX2's in SLI.

    Re: Delayed Order Notification emails

Who the heck said anything about two 7950GX2 in SLi? the reason LegacyOne mentioned the 8800GT 256mb is because that's roughtly the same price. (£1.01p more)

And yep that's the beauty I pre-ordered I missed it the last time they had some for that price so I jumped on it this time when I noticed it had reapeared

And while a 8800GT might be better, I've no intentions of going to vista yet or for a while, but it's also I've always wanted to try out a 7950gx2 since I first saw them but could never really afford it. (esp when I'll need a new motherboard and probably a new PSU on top of that)
