The New SCAN Web Site - What do you think?

We have created a new thread, where you can post your feeling on our new web site - Please take note of the Positive & Constructive points, which have already been raised - Please take note of this summary *before* you post to prevent further duplications and to keep any new points raised easily viewable.

The list will be constantly updated and please as always keep the feedback detailed and constructive.

    Positive Feedback
    Nice clean design
    Quick add to the basket

    Constructive Feedback
Server load times - Now Fixed
Errors when loading/searching - time out system
Order History - can view the list of orders, but not the individual order details.
    Breadcrumb trail doesn't work
Drop shadows are too soft (and suddenly cut off leaving a hard edge), tabs are shadowless
    Icon shadows are inconsistent
Icons on the right menu should be on the left of the menu, not the right
Style of the site is in conflict with itself
Hovering over a product header no longer brings up a sub menu (loved that)
    No today only tab
    Sort by Manufacturer (WIP)
Option for Site not to SAVE CARD INFORMATION
    Delivery ETA page required
No option to save basket on the website
    View Basket button

    Best Regards

    Positive Feedback
Ability to save card information (despite having no option)

I cannot comment further in the order process as I haven't placed one yet or played with the new basket.

Is choosing your delivery address more obvious? or having the ability to set a default delivery addess other than your billing address.

    Thanks Chris

Re: New SCAN Web Site - What do you think?

    So why the update?
What was wrong with the old site, you know saying 'If it's not broke, don't fix it'
The site seems bloated, I prefer the old design, still, that's just my opinion.

Re: New SCAN Web Site - What do you think?

Just a small gripe, I was looking for a button to view/edit my basket, but it seems the "Checkout now" button does the same thing but at the time I didn't want to checkout and I was searching for somewhere to view basket, I even clicked the picture of the basket

Perhaps a "View basket" button would be enough or maybe I'm just being silly

Re: New SCAN Web Site - What do you think?

havent bought anything from the new site yet but i do have one suggestion, perhaps you could change it so that items on today only will actually show up as the same price when you clikc on the information, this would make it easier for people to buy it and it would be a change from the old system . Not major but just an idea.

Positive: the mixit bundles are seperated so you can actually view each item individually.

Noticed that you have 2 mixit bundles listed but can only see 1 out of the 2, says there is a e4500 bundel and then the q9450 bundle but can only see the q9450 one.

Re: The New SCAN Web Site - What do you think?

As I suggested in another thread, RSS the Today Only would be great.

I'd like the different sections on Today Only numbered as they were on the old webby, it makes it easier to pass on info quickly.

Re: The New SCAN Web Site - What do you think?

It appears I'm in a minority here but since you are asking for opinions I think it looks 'cheap' and not as professional as the older site. I am not keen on the colour scheme used at all as although it looks fresh and clean it just dosn't look well put together and the whole theme seems to be a mismatch of colours.

Maybe you could add a 'review' section next to each product where people can leave comments rather than the recommended *** which is pretty much meaningless. I do like that feature on other websites.

Sorry Scan but it just dosn't work for me at the moment.

Re: The New SCAN Web Site - What do you think?

i know you wont do the customer reviews which is very justified by you but how about using reviews from say hexus? like, add a little bit to the item info saying things like Positives: Fast Speed
    Cons: Uses Alot of energy
That could help people decide over 2 different items, with out the need for customer reviews.

Re: The New SCAN Web Site - What do you think?

For certain products HEXUS will write the full review and then linked to the product on our site.

    That's it dude
