last year when designing a site 1024 x 768 was the res to accustom.
I went by http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_display.asp
which shows 1024 is still most used even today
Just because you have a 24+" monitor doesn't mean we all have (Yes I know you don't need 24" monitors for 1280x1024 but on 19" 4:3 screens at that res everything is really tiny. Hence why a majority use lower res's)

Get the following error:
Using Mozilla Firefox 3.0 and wasn't searching, only browsing by going to monitors > televisions > and scrolling down.Code:Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off". <!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="Off"/> </system.web> </configuration> Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL. <!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/> </system.web> </configuration>

There's some tweaking going on behind the scenes at the moment which is going to cause issues like this for a while.

The thing is, most people on forums like Hexus tend to be enthusiasts. It's a good chance that a lot of their friends are, too.
But ..... what about those using laptops, especially those not pretty new, and with large screens?
And what about corporate users? There are millions of PCs out there in corporate use that are running basic apps, and a lot of them will still be using CRTs, and relatively small ones at that. And it's far from uncommon for IT departments to lock machines down so that users can't change things like screen resolution, even if they want to. I see this in practice day-in, day-out.
The latest information I have agrees with what's been said above - and that is that 1024x768 is still the largest single resolution is use .... though it's decreasing and higher resolutions are gaining fast. Which is why I said I hoped you were kidding.
One criticism I've always had, is the ability (or lack of) to have more than one person/card on record.
I'm using my personal account for both home/work, so sometimes it's delivered to myself, and other times it's delivered to IT Manager.
This causes problems with the login, as the login (on the old site) controlled who the package was addressed to (and checked against card holder name)...
Is this still the case on the new site?
The new Scan website contact page seems to be devoid of any email addresses. The only one I could find on another page is info@scan.co.uk and that bounces back a failure notice.

Theres a error when searching for "thermalright" products.
- Sorting by price in search results only sorts that page, not the whole listing.
- There isn't a way to view all search results on one page
- You can only jump one page at a time in search results, not to an arbitrary page.
- Product filter at the top of the page remains between visits using the same IE7 window parent (creating and close tabs)
I was going to comment on the lack of detail on previous orders but i see that you've taken that onboard already so I won't
To be honest I never really noticed much of a speed problem on the old site. The new one is quick though.
I do miss the ability to filter by manufacturer. If I particularly want to find the price of different HIS cards I have to load all the categories whereas I used to be able to specify HIS and see all their products you do. (Although I see that's on the list too.)
Nice work in general though.
"Free speech includes not only the inoffensive but the irritating, the contentious, the eccentric, the heretical, the unwelcome and the provocative provided it does not tend to provoke violence. Freedom only to speak inoffensively is not worth having."
I believe it will return soonI do miss the ability to filter by manufacturer.
As a temporary thing:If I particularly want to find the price of different HIS cards I have to load all the categories whereas I used to be able to specify HIS and see all their products you do.

Click on the top header for price - to sort in either low-high or high-low
