Guys,
The PO we had with BFG has arrived however all the items apart from the 1GB BFG Tech GTX 280 H2OC were delivered.
I shall chase with purchasing and see if I can get a revised ETA however it could be we are awaiting confirmation from BFG.
Thanks but i think must people have give it up waiting on these cards now, and with Nvidia releasing the 280GTX+ end of Aug/ early Sept the wait will carry on for me...
thanks
Hello,
Any chance of an ETA for this product please as it has been outstanding since the 5th August
I wish I had given up on these cards but I was stupid enough to order them. They eventually turned up on the 29th July so I went to collect 3 cards along with some other bits to build a new system. On arriving at the store I placed my order and paid then went to collect everything. After being kept waiting for 20mins I was told they didn't have any of the Striker motherboards in so had to go back to the tills (even though I just wanted to collect it when they got it in). In all I was there for an hour and left diss-satified.
I returned 2 days later (Thursday) to collect the motherboard. I wanted to get a few more bits whilst there but again they didn't have any even though the website said they did (This time it was a couple of sli water connecting pipes). So again I left diss-satified.
I then spent the next few days carefully building up the system, plumbing up the water system and testing it for a good 48hrs to check for leaks before finishing the build and powering up. After sorting out installs drivers etc it was time to test. I started to notice things wern't quite what they should be. I was expecting alot more performance from 3 of these in sli and struggled to find the problems untill I fired up GPU-z. The cards are susposed to be running at 680mhz clock with 2250mhz memory. All 3 cards were showing a factory set clock of 650mhz with the memory at 1163mhz. I was not happy!
Phone call to Scan and they said no worried, just bring them back and change them. Great! Except, of course, they didn't have any. So I had to drain and strip down the entire system so I could take the cards out and return them. Took them back on Friday 8th Aug. With there being none in stock they said they would have to refund the money to my card then I would have to re-order them. So I did all this and started the waiting game yet again.
On Tuesday night I noticed on the website that they were showing stock so got up early on wednesday so I could go collect them before I went to work (I work nights). Now after my last 2 visits I decided to double check before I went up. Phoned them up and asked if they were in and was told no. I queried the website and was told they had had some come in but they had gone. Told them I had pre-ordered, gave my name and was told that no order exsisted (even though it was ordered and paid for the previous friday.) After a second and third look they eventually found my order but still had no cards and no eta.
I decided I better check my bank to see what payments (and refunds) had been done and discovered that they had taken the money for the 3 replacement cards but still had not refunded the money for the 3 I had returned so Scan had £2000 of my money and still owed me three cards. I phoned again to see what was going on and was told it takes 5 days for refund (but they take the money straight away for the order!). Was also told he would chase the order up and get back to me before the end of they day with an eta. Good to see someone there cares about customers.
At 2.00pm I got the stage 1 of 4 email with a due date of the 14th.
At 2.10pm I got the stage 3 of 4 email, order picked and ready for dispatch 13 aug.
So I phoned up for the 3rd time and asked if the 3 cards were in and was told no. WTF???? 2 minutes after hanging up the phone rings and its scan saying the cards are ready to colect. WTF????????
So I rush up to scan and get there for ten to 4. I picked up the cards and got some other bits whilst there (for once everything was in stock!) then went straight to work. Finished at 4am, got home and started to put things together. First thing I noticed was the cards had been opened, one was missing the bag with the barbs and pipe and another was missing the HMDI adapter. As I didnt need any of these I was not too worried and built up the system. It took 2 and a half hours to plumb everything in and I powered it up and went straight into GPU-z and what did I see? 650mhz clock with 1163mhz memory. I couldn't believe it. I then checked the serial numbers and discovered that they are the same 3 cards I had returned last friday. To say i'm peeved off is an understatement. Its now 10am, I've not slept in 26hrs and I've got to be up in 4 hours to got to work. I've just got off the phone with scan where I've been told I'll have to bring the cards back (again), get a refund (again, eventually? still not got the last refund) and re-order them (again) with no delivery date or eta.
It's so nice to get good service but alas this is something I have not had from Scan.
Ginge,
What can I say other than sorry. We have messed up here big time, no excuses it is our fault completely.
We have looked into the logs on the system and it is simply a mistake caused by human error, these cards were logged into the system from yourself originally ready to be returned to the manufacturer and a member of staff has mistakenly booked them back into our stock instead of allocating them to the supplier for return.
I cannot say anything that will make this situation any better, I understand you have spent such a long time setting these up when infact they indeed were the same cards you originally returned to us.
I am genuinely sorry that this mistake has happened again SORRY.
If I can do anything to assist you with this matter, please PM me and i'll see what I can do for you.

i remember reading something about this a while back... where a couple of batches had been sent out with the wrong BIOS (obv this doesn't help you, but some people like to know...)
that is one of the things that i have against SCAN, the amount of time it takes for stock changes to filter through to the website... but so far (touchwood) i havn't had a problem with it...
but seeing as though BFG has very good warranty and good turn around time it might have been a good idea to look at doing it direct under the warranty as SCANs (suplliers) others that they hold stock of are likely to be of the same batch.... so would have the same problem.
i know how annoying it is when something goes wrong through no fault of your own.. but theres nothing you can do to prevent it unfortunatly it's just one of those things..
hope you get things sorted to your liking tho
I can't believe how many graphics cards are out of stock atm, I can only hope that Scan will finally get some of the BFG 280 H2OC cards soon.
