so even though scan assured me it was a one off with the speeds your cards are also slower than advertised..

what an utter scam this is turning out to be.

change them for what ? another card at the wrong speeds ?

i have been waiting 3 days now for a reply from BFG about the fact the batch is at the worng speed and now there not replying, im about to send the email for the 3rd time.

The offer for SCAN to collect and ship the cards directly to BFG on your behalf is still available..

I brought mine back last friday. They weren't sent to BFG, just restocked and given back to me 4 days later. I was never even given that option. Only thing offered to me was a refund (which still hadn't appeared in my account as of this morning) and told I could re-order and wait.

What annoys me the most is the lack of information when we phone. Depending on who you speak to you get given different information, some saying deliveries arrived but no H2OC were included, others saying they arrived but all sold and no-one giving a date for their devlivery. Is it too hard to phone your suppliers and get delivery dates? If they cant give the information get them to get a date from BFG and then pass that information on. Keep phoning them till they get it sorted.

With new cards due for release in 2 weeks this is getting beyond a joke. Where's Scans 3XS commitment now?

Re: 1GB BFG Tech GTX 280 H2OC ETA please

BFG have no stock of the cards at the moment, we have pre-order's outstanding and are chasing the new stock. The refund was processed when the cards were returned to SCAN so the funds should clear tomorrow / Monday.

I think possible the reason this option was not offered is that you personally brought the card back and as we had no stock the only option was the refund route. I am pretty sure Gonzo contacted BFG directly and has raised the RMA through BFG.

As confirmed in your recent thread, please PM Wesley directly who will assist you with this further with this issue.

    Regards

I've been trying to PM Wesley but for some reason the site keeps saying I do not have enough permissions to do so. Very strange. I will have to phone him later today after I get some sleep to try and get this matter sorted out.

the only other way that i can see of doing it is flashing the cards with the correct BIOS yourself... but it's risky business and you shouldn't have to do it...

Re: 1GB BFG Tech GTX 280 H2OC ETA please

Well, its only really risky if:

    1. You do not have a PCI gfx card lying around to flash back the old BIOS should anything go wrong.

    2. The cards have the wrong RAM chips on them and ramping the speed up on them physically damages them (highly unlikely)

2 can be pretested anyway by overclocking it via software first (RivaTuner). I personally would had edited the BIOSes on them and set the frequencies to what BFG stated they should be.

Re: 1GB BFG Tech GTX 280 H2OC ETA please

I've just had a reply from BFG. They are saying it takes 2 business days for them to process the RMA once it arrives and another 3 to 5 business days till I receive the unit back.

I've had a look around but I've not managed to find a copy of the BIOS/Firmware online. I did find a review of the cards that had a screenshot of GPU-z on it and it showed the Bios number of the cards they were reviewing to be 62.00.0E.00.1A, which is the same as the BIOS on my cards, but theirs were running at the right speed. Makes me wonder if it's a hardware fault on the cards and not just the Bios.

Does anyone have a H2OC out there thats running at the right speeds? If so, can they copy the Bios for me and post it on here? I would like to try flashing them before I waste even more time sending these cards off and being stuck with no machine again. I've flashed cards before using NVflash and had no problems with it.

i can send you a file with the right speeds preset, but i made it myself, im hanging on for a proper copy tho

you can edit in the right speeds using NiBiTor 4.4

i also spat my dummy out with BFG after pointing out the farked up an entire batch so should jsut admit fault and issue a BIOs update like all good companies would

Re: 1GB BFG Tech GTX 280 H2OC ETA please

Well I discovered another problem with one of my cards. Decided to try the new nvidia drivers with Physx. I was running the particle physx demo when I decided to check out my temps. Water was at 40c, Gpu 1 @ 57c, Gpu 2 @ 59c and Gpu 3 @ 105c, and this was only after 2 mins. GPU 1 and 2 were stable but Gpu 3 goes crazy whenever it gets loaded up. At idle all 3 sit at about 47c but fully loaded see Gpu 3 double its temp in 2 mins.

So it looks like it RMA time for these 3. Got my RMA numbers but just sorting out who is paying for the couriers first. Don't see any reason I should pay any more. They fecked up not me, so they should sort it out. I've now got spend 2 hours draining all the system down and stripping out the cards yet again.

Re: 1GB BFG Tech GTX 280 H2OC ETA please

Hi both - I have the same issue - BIOS is underclocked to 650Mhz - and the shaders and RAM are also under clocked. I've been searching t'interweb this past week for a way to fix it myself - but have come to the conclusion that it'll have to go back to BFG

I also picked mine up at Scan - and I think I narrowly avoided picking up one of Ginges returns - that being said, the newly packaged one I got was still wrongly clocked.

I've raised an RMA with BFG - but have also asked them just to send the correct BIOS with a software tool / instruction of how to flash the BIOS in Vista x64 - which I'm finding is more annoying than usual when it comes to BIOS tools / UAC rules etc.

I believe it's pointless returning it to Scan as they don't have any more stock (I'm sure someone will confirm or deny this) so it's maybe best to take it up with the manufacturer - especially as its clearly a manufacturing fault.

That being said, if BFG haven't completely sorted me out before the 30 days from purchase timescale, then I'll be returning it to Scan for a full refund.

I believe Scan only had 6 to start with - so we represent 5 of them Ginge has 3 (you have too much money mate), GoNzo has 1 and I have 1 - so I assume some poor sod has the 6th one and maybe doesn't know that it's performing less well than the air cooled OCX version.

Apparently the GTX 290 is out from next Monday - 100 day upgrade anyone ?
