    Picking/Order Query

    Hello there,

Just got a question regarding an order i placed with Scan on the 5th July for delivery tomorrow (11th July)

I got emails saying that the order was recieved and payment was cleared but as of yet i havent got an email confirming picking or despatching.

Is this normal for these notifications to be left so late or am i getting all excited about my new system thats not going to come tomorrow?

    Re: Picking/Order Query

Not really, the stuffs been ordered so it should be coming (Should be!).

Will just be a pain if its not tomorrow, its hard to arrange for someone to sign for it otherwise.

    Re: Picking/Order Query

To be honest CMTech just because a product doesn't arrive by its estimated date doesn't mean you will be entitled to any kind of discount really.

The dates are estimates, it does state it on the website.

At Groundbeef, try giving SCAN a call in the morning and see what they say.

You'll not get no CONSIDERABLE discount as you have no grounds for one really.

    Re: Picking/Order Query

Well I have resolved my issue.

I called this morning to enquire about my delivery and was informed that a couple of the items i ordered were out of stock:

    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450, Yorkfield 1 £173.00
    1000 GB Samsung HD103UJ Spinpoint F 1 £79.89
    4GB (2x2GB) Corsair TwinX DDR2 PC2- 1 £66.99 ------Out of Stock
    Coolermaster RC-1000 *New V2* Cosmo 1 £95.00
    850W Coolermaster Real Power M850 M 1 £99.00
    512MB HiS HD4870, PCI-E 2.0 (x16), 1 £175.00
    Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro - P4 u 1 £12.69
    Asus Rampage Formula, S775, PCI 1 £148.10
120mm Coolermaster PWM Super Silent 3 £4.20------Out of Stock
    ----------------------------------------------------------
    Nett total £862.27
    Carriage £9.87
    VAT £152.62
    Total £1,024.76

This i find incredible as when i ordered the items on Saturday the 5th ALL the items were in stock ( Ieven chose a more expensive 4870 card as it was in stock whilst the others were not). Because i had to have my order delivered on Friday the 11th every other customer who was getting delivery before then gets their items but even tho i ordered before them i lose out.

I got no email telling me any of this and have taken a day off work to be there to recieve this delivery which is wasted now.

Cancelled the entire order and so Scan lost out on a £1000 sale.

Think this system needs adjusting somewhat.

Apologies for venting but extremely unhappy about the whole thing.

    Re: Picking/Order Query

If I'm building a complete system I tend to spread the order over a couple of weeks no matter who I'm ordering from to avoid this scenario. That's not to say I don't sympathise though.

    Re: Picking/Order Query

Good point Kinetic and one i shall bear in mind next time.

The main reason i ordered all in one whack was that most of the items were feautured on the Today only page.

Just kinda infuriated that when you order the items are not reserved for you even though you have arranged a delivery date later on in the week. Imagine if you ordered a car only to find that you didnt get it because someone else could arrange to pick it up on the day before After all scan accepted payment within 2 hours of me placing the order!

Scan sent me an email with free delivery on it so who knows maybe once i have cooled down and the refund has gone through i may order over a couple of weeks or something. Just a pain in the arse arranging for someone to be in to sign for the packages.

    Re: Picking/Order Query

Sorry to hear about the issues you had there Groundbeef. I'd like to look into this to see if anyone did attempt to inform you about out of stock items. Could you please post up the invoice or OLQ number, and I'll have a double check for you.

Whilst we appreciate that the stock was showing as 'in' - as you were ordering TodayOnly items this can often be troublesome. As you can imagine, the world and his dog are on the todayonly page ordering kit and it's likely that you were just a minute or two out. Happened to me numerous times before I worked here!

    All the best

    Re: Picking/Order Query

    Ok Leepen@scan,

The associated OLQ number is OLQ*Removed*

Thanks for showing an interest and i must say that apart from this Hiccup the two ladies i spoke to on the telephone were very helpful and offered to make other arrangements to accomodate my order. (Dawn was one of them, didnt get the other name).

I had the option to re-order at the same prices i had previously ordered on but unfortunately untill the refund comes through there are insufficent funds in the bank!

Edit: Just recieved a phone call from Chris and he has explained some bits and bobs to me and offered me some incentives for replacing my order! 10/10 for customer service with regards to sorting out problems, very rare to recieve phone calls from a company that you have bought something from let alone one that you have cancelled an order with. Thanks Scan very much appreciated!
