    More City Link woes...

My replacement item for an RMA was due for delivery last Friday, unfortunately I couldn't be at home and so they left a card. The card said they would try again on Monday (yesterday), and to only ring if I wouldn't be in. So, I worked from home yesterday and sat around listening out for the knock and, yes you guessed it, no sign of City Link all day. You probably guessed the next bit as well, their website says they attempted delivery again and left a card... heard that one before. So, this morning I phone up the number on the 1st card to attempt to arrange redelivery only to be told they can't do that as they've already attempted delivery "twice". I've just checked the site again and it now says that, today, my parcel has been "returned to the branch".

Truth be told I'm sick and tired of City Link, I've driven the 100 minute return journey to pick up parcels from their depot (due to their poor service) before, and I'm not doing it again. I can only assume this parcel will make it's way back to Scan. The irony of all this is that I've already got a replacement for the original faulty item as I couldn't wait for the RMA turnaround, so I don't actually need this item that's out there in the wilderness. Anyway, what happens now?!

Indeed. The chap who delivers to me is exemplary, but until he joined they were very poor.

As pointed out it depends where you live to how good they are. They used to mess up loads and annoyed me once so much I wrote a letter to them calling them idiots as they said they attempted delivery and carded the address as nobody was in. The problem was I gave my brothers business address which was a newsagents open from 6am until 9pm and was clear on the delivery that it was a business address.

I think if they are running late the drivers get away with saying they carded the address so not to get a rollocking rather than saying they didn't have time.

    Re: More City Link woes...

I've had two orders over the last few weeks - one from ebuyer and one from scan, borh delivered by citylink. The ebuyer delivery actually came a few days earlier than I expected, and when no one was home at the time, they gave me a call and we arranged for the boxes to be left at my neighbour's.

Didn't have that kind of luck with the scan order (though none of scan's fault, probably). They've tried delivering twice, both times no one was home, both times they left cards, but didn't call me. And when I came to the depot to collect my stuff, they've given me one box, while there in fact were two - I didn't notice it before I got home, and the guy at the reception obviously didn't as well. Had to go to the depot again and collect it.

In short - it depends. Sometimes they're awesome. sometimes not so much.
