City Link next day delivery?

Hi,

First things first, I apologise if this seems like a rant. I placed an order yesterday with Scan, which was picked, packed and dispatched the same day.

Woke up early today, waiting for delivery and well I'm still waiting. Now I know City Link deliver up to 5:30pm but I've already seen the van around this area earlier and I can't see the driver coming back now. I've had no card, no knock on the door and the City Link tracking still says its out for delivery. I fully expect it to update to say its been returned to the delivery branch at some point. I know this isn't your fault and it certainly isn't mine. I know this is a little cheeky but is there any chance of a refund on the postage if the delivery isn't made today. I paid for next day delivery and that's what I expect.

Once again apologies for the rant and I appreciate any advice you can give.

I have checked the status of your order and it shows:

Current Status: These goods have been loaded onto a van for delivery today.

Customer Reference: 00E117xxxx Scheduled Delivery Date: 11/12/08

The delivery should be there later today, it could be that you have seen another driver from the same depot delivering to other customers.

I had CL deliver at 6pm a long time ago, late running or whatever.

Just seeing a CL van around doesn't mean they have your goods on that van, I had 2 parcels from CL on 1 day before and they were from different vans/drivers.

Yes, I suppose that could be the case, that there might be another van/driver with the parcel. They are usually very good and deliver by 1pm around here but perhaps they are busy today. Anyway I shall wait and see if they deliver and will update this thread if they do or don't.

Well it appears I jumped the gun Parcel has arrived. I must say I'm very impressed that David from Scan emailed me to let me know that he had been in touch with City Link and confirmation that the driver would be here by 4:30pm. That as far as I'm concerned is excellent customer service.

Had a parcel via City Link at about 1400h today. The van was the dreaded white sort and the driver was casual. CL usually calls at about 0800h but there were many timed deliveries - it'll be like this until January :-(

There should be a delivery from Scan tomorrow so I'll ring the depot at about 0800h - I have an 01 number so it's 'free', then I won't be stuck here.

This has happened to me several times with both Citylink and other couriers, i.e. the different delivering vans/drivers on the same day. I have always wondered why they do this instead of putting it all in one van, but I suppose they just try to fill up the vans as much as possible regardless of whether or not they are splitting up deliveries to the same person or not.
