    RE RMA With scan

    Hey people

Im hoping i can get some help with my rma from you guys over here,

Basically i managed to save up £1000 for a new upgrade and i bought a lovely x58 mobo, some new shiny crucial ballistix ram to match the motherboard, whilst i was buying this i added scansure into my basket to cover me incase i broke something.

Since then i have gone onto watercooling and i had to take the motherboard out to fit the backplate of the block i bought, when i put it all back to gether i got error code 88 which is faulty nb, i was like wtf , so i phoned the helpfull team at scan and asked them to start and rma, I have just used my brothers laptop today to check the status of the rma and was shocked to find out my rma was rejected because of bent cpu pins and thermal paste in the socket.

I dont understand how this could of happened as i made sure i wrapped it up carefully using the pin protector that came with the motherboard and i only ever use a pea size piece of thermal paste and apply it to the cpu so when i screw the block back on it, it would then spread.

Can someone please help me as my scan insurance ran out on the tuesday and that was the sam day i started my rma. Am i covered with this insurance still ?

Again pls help as i am now unemployed and cannot afford to find £280 for a replacement board

    Re: RE RMA With scan

Bit late now, but might help others, perhaps we should also photo the socket and board before returning under RMA and note the serial number(s)?

In fact this might be a good idea for any sensitive items that we return to anyone.

I did this to protect myself recently in case of potential dispute when returning a grade B board from another supplier as I received the board with no protector and several mangled pins (I did notify them within 24hours of reciept about the damage).
Aside from a delay in collection they were fine tho and issued a refund next working day, same day the item was received, which was impressive.

    Re: RE RMA With scan

Before anyone gets excited it was reported on the 29th day so officially the SCANSURE had expired and the customer was NOT covered, so Gonzo we DID get it right to start with.

I can confirm however that on this occasion we supported our customer and issued a replacement even though technically there was no need for us to do so.

The customer had opted for Scansure and we supported our customer on this occasion.

Gonzo, if all your going to do is make un-needed comments, and generally comments that paint SCAN in a bad light, especially when the issue has been resolved simply because you have had problems in the past, why dont you just stop wasting your own time and others and stop posting when it isnt needed?

Thats exactly what I was thinking. He clearly had no knowledge of the particular issue discussed in this thread and just posted to deliberately flame and troll.

    Alright, that's enough.

Please read our rules about insulting other members, and bear in mind that includes calling them trolls.

This matter has been resolved, apparently to the satisfaction of both Scan and their customer. So please, everyone, let it drop.

    Re: RE RMA With scan

excuse me haters, if you read my original post i asked if he had scansure and asked if he was out the 28 days as he states the RMA was rejected, then the following reply from scan was rather pissy, due to that they got a pissy reply back as would be expected, its not my fault paulm decided to get sarcastic when i asked a simple question is it ?

its more like your the trolls in this case not me as the pair of you did the flaming.
