Yeah Noxis you did have to wait a fair while didn't you ...

I hate this part of the year when "new products" are out yet no supplier in the UK has any !!! look at the X800 XT cards - theres hardly any floating about at all.

As soon as I hear anything.... you'll be the first to know here

    Hi,
Guess i got lucky as my card was shipped today and some of you guys have been waiting weeks (only ordered a few days ago) but im a bit worried about the speeds that wildmonkey listed -
As for the clock speeds - I'm sure they are 400 hz / 1100 Mhz core and memory speed respectively.
Nearly all sites i read say the card should run at 425 / 1200 and be able to clock upto 465, Overclockers has it listed as:

    - 425-450MHz Core Engine Clock speed
    - 256MB 1200MHz high speed DDR3 memory

    guess ill find out tomorrow...

Thought I would be receiving the xfx 6800u today, but after calling you just now it appears that mine didn't go out last night, and is going out today. Is this true for all the XFX cards, did you get the shipment late yesterday?

    Cheers,
    Richard.

Sorry, what does this mean? As in, I know what you're saying but who is it directed at? I assume you're just gloating over your card shipping earlier than mine? The card I've ordered isn't for me, it's for a friend - he's going ballistic! I just hope it does ship out today, otherwise he's gonna be coming after me!

    Cheers,
    Richard.

sorry diddnt mean for it to be rude, it was ment for wildmonkey.... this thread is about XFX cards and he gave gainward specs.......

    EDIT:
My main query about the clock speeds was from this article:
    http://www.trustedreviews.com/article.aspx?art=489

    Specifically:
To verify the speed of the XFX 6800 Ultra I contacted XFX and the reply was that all cards will be clocked at a minimum of 425MHz, but the 450MHz core speed can’t be guaranteed. It’s therefore worth checking before you buy.
    hope this clarifys things

No, not at all. I never take things seriously on boards anyway (people seem to flip out sometimes), was just wondering what it was relating to that's all.

Can anyone tell me whether or not pre-orders on Scan are billed immediately to your credit/debit card, or whether they are billed on despatch?

You are billed immediately as soon as you get your invoice number.

    Hmmm.. best have secured one.

Right.. after a whole day of searching sites and ringing companies finally tracked some XFX 6800 Ultra's at Scan.co.uk, rang them.. they said "Yes we have 7 in stock" I then went on to say.. "If I order tonight will that secure one?" they informed me yes.. that would secure one for despatch on monday. I then went on to order.. by then they had updated the site to say "In stock" but there was still a bit of text that said "** Back Orders Only Estimated 31/08/2004 **" which kinda worried me. I rang today to check if I had secured it but they couldn't give me an answer.. the woman on the phone didn't make it sound too promising though. My order process has gone to level 2.. don't know what that means tbh. Guess it's just wait untill monday and see what happens.. if they haven't got one for me then I shall cancel the order and get it elsewhere.
