Azrael1 : What are your full system specs as this could have a influence on the ambient temperature.

Also, how is the air flow within the case? Are there any IDE cables hindering the airflow or large internal items blocking the air-flow.

If you can provide us with this information as well as pics of your internals of the case, then we maybe able to assist you in getting better temperatures.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards

    Lee

Monkey, It's me with the temp problem.. Ok.. I have like 4 8cm intake fans at front of case, 1 intake at side, 1 outtake on top, 2 outtakes at back, aero 4 lite cpu cooler, crystal orbit chipset cooler and a dual fan psu..

Also all cables are rounded, covered and out of the way.

My ambient case temp never goes any higher than 30C neither does my CPU temp.

At Idle on the settings page it says my XFX 6800 Ultra is 70C rising higher to 75C
I took the card out, feels quite hot >_<.. I checked that the heatsink is on properly which it is. Not sure what else to do.. rang Scan earlier and they said check it on another pc and if it's the same arrange to send it back. If you've any ideas / suggestion add me to msn messenger if you have it.. skunkfreaka@hotmail.com

Here's an email I just wrote to XFX..

    Hi there,

Received the card a couple of days ago and noticed the temperature seemed to be a little high.. at idle the GPU Core reads - 70 degrees C and the Ambient Temp reads - 45 degrees C. The card came clocked at Core Clock - 425mhz and Memory Clock - 1.20ghz. My case temp and CPU temp never get any higher than 30 degrees C.

    My system specs are :-
    P4 3.2ghz CPU.
    Asus P4C800 Deluxe Motherboard.
512mb Corsair XMS Pro Low Latencey Ram.
Also using a 550Watt Silent Power PSU.

Can you let me know if this is running too hot as everyone else I have spoken to gets alot lower temperatures then I do.

    Regards,
    Zap.

Got a reply to the email..

    "Dear customer:

This temp is very high, you will need to install some case fans or replace the VGA cooler to lower it.

    Sincerely,
    XFX Tech Support
    Frank S."

.. I guess this guys didn't read the rest of my email where it clearlly says my ambient case temp is never higher than 30C.

Jeez.. I emailed them asking if I could have someone with a little computer knowledge answer my questions.
