Looks like the card is broken and will have to go back.

It worked initially but kept pausing while doing things like 3dmark03 and FarCry (at the time I put it down to driver problems coz I not had a chance to reinstall WinXP after taking out my ATI 9700 Pro).

However after backing up all my data last night it worked this morning, went out shopping, got back and the machine had crashed. Rebooted and now all I get is a flashing cursor in the top left of screen.

Its almost like the card has lost its bios or something coz its obviously sending out some kind of signal.

When I plug my Radeon 9700 Pro back in everything is fine.

There seems to be a lot of broken 6800's around.

This is turning into a farce.

Im getting slightly fed up with the CS of scan. I appreciate that 6800u are like gold dust but the information provided to me has been poor.

This is the story so far......

*Told a week ago on Tuesday that my card would be instock Thursday, and would ship then.

    - go no confirmation email, but I decided to leave it

*Phoned on Tuesday just there and told the following by a Customer Service rep. She apparently had spoken to their "warehouse" guys and the cards were in. My order was being packaged definately that afternoon and I would get it on the Wednesday without a hitch.

-nothing on Wed nowt today. No emails either so I was suspicious.

*Phoned today, and was told that they have NO idea when stock will be coming in stock. "maybe" in two weeks or three weeks.

So what I want to know is why do Scan customer service reps give out misleading info. I was told twice that my order was confirmed and stock allocated, so much that I was being told my card was being packaged that day. Also, at the same time I ordered a Coolermaster black wavemaster. Scan won't ship out my case as their system wont allow it, so I need to wait for the 6800u to be in stock - the product they can't give me a lead time on.

So Scan have debited my card by approx 530 quid, have one item in stock but wont ship it to me... What do you guys think?

I appreciate the 6800 situation, Im not really moaning about no card (I understand they are at the mercy of xfx), but I want to know why they wont ship goods they have in stock, and ive paid for, and why Ive been basically lied to by their customer service team.

They dealed with me very well and fairly. My advice is to call their main number navigate to their sales team (options 2 , 1 I believe). If you can speak to Carl or Lee they clued up They all are but Carl really helped me out.

I am sorry that you feel that you have been misinformed by our CS department.

If you PM me the invoice number you have been allocated and a valid email address I shall look into this first thing on Monday for you.

Ok just a quick update for you all,

We have recieved most of the XFX cards that we have allocated on back order with customers (all but 4) therefore the majority of the 6800 Ultra cards should be shipped today for delivery tomorrow.

If you would like me to check to see if the card is getting dispatched today for you if you send me a PM with the invoice number I shall check it out for you.
