Email Asus to check if the BIOS update is to support the new 1333FSB processors. It most likely is but just to confirm.
Or post on their forum: http://vip.asus.com/forum/topic.aspx...odel=T3-P5G965

I saw someone on theyre forum running an e6420, but I would also be intrested to know, Ive emailed asus asking them and asking what differences 0703 has exactly
Hi,
I have set up the 0703 bios, although my DDR2-800 memories are still running on 666MHz.
What changes were in this release?
Thanks for the help!
Hi!
I just bought T3 and tought I could use Core duo E6850 processor (3Ghz / 1333fsb) by just replacing the Barebones motherboard. I tought there are only ATX and mini-ATX mobos out there so I bought an cheap mini-ATX and then noticed that it does not fit. So I'm stuckt with the original mobo.
The processor works just fine, but only with 1066fsb (= 2,4Ghz instead of 3Ghz). So I would like to either buy a mobo that supports 1333Mhz or overclock the fsb from 266 to 333 or so.
Question number one:
Is there any nano BTX motherboards sold separately and do any of those come with 1333fsb capability?
Question number two:
Adamg mentioned that he was able to increase the fsb in Windows. With what software? It seems that there are a couple of software that should be able to do it, but none of them seem to support this rare motherboard.
Hi,
Is sy succeeded in to use installed memory in 800MHz?
Because in spite of specification, my DDR2-800 memories only works on 666 MHz :-(
I am using 0703 bios.
Thanks for your help!
Got my Asus T3-P5G965A today!
After opening, it started to sink in... What have I done???
I wanted the smallest thing out there that could support the biggest specs I could fit. This was it. But will it work?
So far I only got the barebone and my Q6600(Quadless no more!). As far as I could see from Asus, it was the biggest thing I could put in it. Alas, it was a SL9UM, thought it was a SLACR. So I'm off to a bad start:-(
I'm gonna put 4x1024 OCZ Reaper's in there, hope it'll support! A 8800 TOP card, and an Antec 500W PSU(just to be safe).
Any ide's if this baby is gonna fly, or cry? I still have time to change the order, due to having to wait for the 8800.
Please help me someone! I don't feel like swearing nonstop for a week.
I built this T3-P5G965 with Intel Pentium E2180 CPU, and OCZ SLI-Ready 2GB (2 x 1GB) SDRAM. While the CPU is on the Asus approved list, the OCZ RAM is not, but it runs for a month already without any problem.
I've noticed that the CPU fan will burst the speed every once a while and that makes a loud noise. Since this box is pretty quiet most of the time. The loud CPU fan noise makes it so noticeable. I am thinking maybe update the BIOS will fix the problem. When I check the site, there are 5 BIOS files.
My questions are:
1.) Do I have to update the BIOS to fix the CPU fans issues or there are some settings I can do to adjust CPU fan?
2.) Do I have to update these 5 BIOS files one by one from the earliest day to the latest day or just the most recent one?
3.) Would it cause any issue after BIOS updated since my OCZ RAM is not on the approved vendor list?
4.) Can I rollback to the default one?
Thank you very much.
EL
The fan speed will be ramped up when the cpu reaches a certain temperature. You are probably hearing it ramp up under heavy load.
1) There are settings in the BIOS to control fan speed and the Asus Probe program
2) No just the latest
3) No it shouldnt if it works okay now
4) You can re-flash the old BIOS if needed

there are a lot of posts on the ASUS forum regarding fan noise
http://vip.asus.com/forum/topic.aspx...Language=en-us
perhaps asusbarebonet3 is aka joao.insa from Portugal?
- looks like some folks have constant max speed fan problems, so I consider myself fortunate that I only get to sh!t myself occasionally when the fan bursts to the sudden loud max speed for no apparent reason - CPU might be under load running IE, but not sure why a 1 second max fan burst is used, rather than running the fan at a lower speed as temps increase towards the burst threshold - poor fan monitoring software I suppose.
Not very helpful this next comment, but, I'm surprised that anyone would still be buying one of these, with all the reviews/comments posted over the last 2 years - maybe it's available at a very competitive price? - it is probably still a goodish product if it's only to be used as an office desktop.
However, if anyone still purchases one of these and they want to play some older games with the integrated graphics then be sure to get the latest G965 drivers from the Intel website.
Has anyone managed to add a third HDD and if so how?
Maybe, I have two sata disk and a sata dvd drive.
