These are just the latest reviews, similar reviews for Corsair's whole range can easily be found to confirm Corsair top position in the market place.

Yes that is true but strangely enough people do actually buy other brands than corsair. We all like vanilla ice cream but we do want other flavors to be available
from our fav ice cream shop.

If not we will have to go to our less favored shop to get the flavors we (not all of u) want.

Its not feasible to order all brands and to buy the quantity required of each brand so we are competitive on price.

This is one of the reasons we concentrate on Corsair, we stock a range for the Value customer and the extreme Dominator for the performance overclocker. There is demand for other brand but the level of demand does not warrant stocking alternative brands at the moment.

Fair enough, your prices do seem amongst the cheapest (though not significantly) and they are competitive in the value and top-end. There is opinion though that technically they are being outgunned by their competition in the PC6400 mid-range (~£200) - nobody on the boards seems to be recommending Corsair in this area, where RAM with the latest Micron chips has so much better price/performance.
Currently the majority of enthusiasts are overclocking this cheaper PC6400 rather than buy the more expensive solutions.
Now if Corsair where to bring out new RAM (with Micron or better chips) along with SCANs great pricing.... then we would all be happy

I'm buying another Intel system soon and I have to choose whether to buy all components except for RAM from SCAN (and save £10-20) or buy the whole lot from where I get the RAM with the lazier attraction of a single order/delivery?

Of course - if you contribute regularly to this forum, you wont need to pay delivery anyway...

Good point on the free delivery, even without that though the only reason I would shop elsewhere than SCAN (who are my #1) is if SCAN don't offer what I want (as in this case). Unfortunately the free delivery argument is not a good one for RAM as at least one competitor I know of offers free delivery on selected RAM products.

That is a shame that scan wont sell other RAM brands. The specific area atm being pc6400, but o well scan are the best for everything else. We can't have it all I suppose ocuk do stock what I want.

Thankyou scan for your feedback and everyone else too.

and if you look on sites that arent owned by the chairman of corsairs son you will also find alot of reviews stating corsair are at best average-good in the world of ddr2

still love scan mostly great stock but come on lets be honest there are a lot better makers of memory out there

although it could be worse you could just stock kingston hyper-x instead

Well, I have just checked prices at a memory specialist (the one based in Scotland) and their prices for DD2 800MHz (PC2-6400) appear higher than scan at the moment. The ones with the yellow heat spreaders might be cheaper than equivalent corsair, If I knew which they where, but I don't think so.

They are probably saying this because they have been told to say it by the boss,
it's a bold statement i know but that is what is looks like too me . Correct me if I am wrong

Come on we all know there are better alternatives that corsair atm.

If you had £200 for RAM what would you buy?
    Maby a poll is needed?

nobody tells us what to say

Another point of why we sell Corsair is there excellent reliability and after sales service, which is second to none.

Corsair are good but that's a little short sighted tbh. Hey SCAN can stock who they like but having used loads of RAM they're not always the best or most compatible .

Not saying Corsair is bad: far from it but excluding every other memory manufacturer makes a big (and well respected company) like SCAN seem pretty bias.

Anyway i'll shut up as it isn't my company or place to say it really - just speaking from an enthusiasts point of view

This has nothing to do with being Biased.

We have chosen to stock only Corsair and if we thought offering other brands of memory would be more beneficial we would do so. We stock products based on a wide range of factors.

Price, Stock availability, reliability, performance, warranty, after sales service to name the maint points - in no particular order

Corsair in some people's opinion may not be the best in all cases, however generally in terms of the above points Corsair comes out top and also for the enthusiast the Corsair is the most innovative and offers the best performance / overclockability.

You want the best this comes at a price....

My point being is that corsair does not necessarily turn out to be the best.

Like I said I am just commenting on how it appears, not how it is.
