City Link - Joke Company. Change them Scan

I firstly would like to add that this is in no way the fault of Scan.

City Link - What a load of rubbish.
I was promised my delivery today....waited all day and nothing.
Phoned them 10 mins ago (its now 6:45) and told that the delivery driver didnt make it to me.

The van was loaded Friday in Cardiff and i live 8 miles away. I couldve walked to Cardiff to collect in that time.

I have been 'guaranteed' delivery tomorrow (i won't hold my breath on that one), and if it doesn't arrive i will look for a refund as i already took today off to wait for the parcel.

Like my first statement suggested, this ISNT the fault of Scan
    BUT!!!
Maybe they should reconsider their courier choice as i have only ever had the misfortune of dealing with City Link 3 times and on each occassion they have delivered late.

Like most things I think service varies by location. I find City Link the best experience for me as for some reason they always deliver at 1PM to me and they have never missed one. I think the only option to please most people is to offer a choice of courier at order time - but I guess this would push the price up though and is probably not practical logistically for SCAN.

City Link have always been good to me because I live a crazy distance away from their nearest depot so it's probably in their best interests to deliver on time.

Can we end the general City Link comments guys.

We have heard them all before... changing the courier would not solve all issues such as the one experienced as these issues arise with all courier services. Service levels can vary between branch as City Link is a franchise. Over the past few years our despatch systems have become more and more integrated with theirs, which now means that the whole process from the point of ordering to the point of delivery is streamlined and informative. By having such accurate and detailed information available to base any investigations on, we are able to quickly and effectively resolve any queries. Isolated problems here and there are an unavoidable consequence for any company dealing with such high volumes of deliveries, but we believe due to the tracking systems in place any issues can be resolved very quickly.

    Blitzen

If you can contact CS at your earliest convenience tomorrow they will contact the courier to track the parcel.

    Best Regards

    Chris...good point you have there.

This is just a post of my opinion. Would it be better if customers was able to choose different types of couriers when they buy a product. For example city link can be the normal courier but also have others such as Royal mail maybe?

    regards

Come on people lighten up on City Link a little they do a pretty good job I reckon. How many of you have ordered something very late in the day and you have prayed that it will be there the next day and it arrives? A lot of you probably. That is not just down to Scan that is down to City link as I am sure Scan push City Link right up to the cut off and beyond sometimes. Being an ex collections driver for Royal Mail I know the customers push it to the limit. so a bit of a thank you to the City Link drivers for getting so much of our gear to us on time would probably be appreciated now and then. Nothing gets you down more than being slagged off all the time when you know you are doing your best. Sometimes events are beyond everyones control.

I think this has been covered a few times before, you can arrange to have an order collected by another delivery firm at your own cost, if you don't want to have City Link deliver the package...

Thanks but I can track it already. I even spoke to CityLink.
Its been in Cardiff since Saturday morning....thats just up the road.
They told me at 3:30pm 'My parcel would arrive before 5pm' ------ No Parcel.
They told me at 5:30pm 'my parcel was on its way from Newport' as we spoke.
At 6:25 they told me 'the driver had gone home and it might be with me tomorrow'.

I realise that couriers are hit and miss sometimes but it was their attitude rather than it not being delivered..
If someone had said at 3:30 that they were sorry and it wouldnt be with me until Tuesday, then that would be fine.
But no...all i got was fobbed off.
To let me stay at home waiting for it and then find out that the driver just couldnt be bothered to deliver it is something else.

mate i think its more of a local issue rather than City Link as a whole - trust me i've dealt with the Cardiff depot many times and have NOT been impressed with the service they offer - there depot holds some of the rudest people on earth

however, as i mentioned it does seem to be localised, back at my parents in Blackpool the service seems to be second to none
