OVERCLOCKERS can do an RMA properly

i asked for an rma on my geil ultras on the 17th december and was giving my rma number once my new ram arrived i posted the ram off last saturday the 20th.

got an email on the 22nd saying they had recieved them and it would take 5-7 days for testing.

being that it was christmas i didn't expect to hear anything for a very long while time of year and overclockers Rma record being as it is.

however yesterday the 30th i got 3 emails one saying they were faulty and off to manufacturer for repair, an hour later another saying they had been replaced. and then finally one saying they had been despatched. So 8 days all in for an RMA is pretty damn good especially at this time of year.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, DON'T turn this into a i hate overclockers scan rules or vice versa thread as most of you on here know me and i am not an ocuk fanboi and do not use there forums but felt being as there RMA record is so bad and that they actually got this one right i would mention it.

I think over the last 18 months or so that OCUK have just got better. Thought getting back lost customers or changing customers perception of them from previous mistakes or poor customer service may be more difficult.

They do take some time to reply to RMA requests though. And they don't cover shipping costs of faulty items to them unlike dabs or ebuyer.

took them 3 hours to get back to me initially with an rma number and then a few more hours to get them to agree to send it back to our new address as we've moved in the 2 years since i'd purchased them.

and postage refunds would be nice but we cant exect everything

Just to clarify what "the forums" is, I presume you mean on their forums? Because we have a Gibbo here, and he certainly isn't banned here.

And if you do, you could always ask. Though I doubt they'll answer, any more than we usually would here if asked that question.

If you send them proof of postage they refund you. Only if you product was found faulty.

Re: OVERCLOCKERS can do an RMA properly

    Hi there

Yes I have indeed left OcUK!

It all started when my pay was illegally cut, I stood up for my rights but during this time got a better job offer. Informed Spie who agreed to match this offer.

But then on December 17th he went back on the agreement of matching the offer but agreed to put me back to my original pay but I was not happy with the way things were going at OcUK and so took up the new job offer.

Yes the new job is at Novatech!

I am also here as well, had this account for a long time but never used it, I would hope I am welcome here but if I am not then understood and I will happily answer any questions you may have but let me make one thing clear I am not here to bitch about Spie or OcUK. Its the start to a new year and I've got a great new job to get on with.

Well good luck with things at Novatech mate, some of the deals you managed to pull for OcUK and its customers have been very good in the past so lets hope you can do the same for Novatech.

I myself have never ordered from them and although I havnt bothered with anything the past few months Ill hopefully be getting into the swing of things again at the end of Jan. Novatech may see I few orders from me yet...

    Hi m8

Had a few earlier but its a quiet one for me really, I might be a tad merry but definetely not under the influence.

Yes I shall be looking to get Novatech some good deals in place along with implementing any ideas customers have for improving their shopping experience. From what I have seen off Novatech they are very good at looking after customers but if anyone is after a deal or does need help with getting anything sorted out then simply email me or add me to MSN and I hope with time Novatech and Hexus can do some good business together as well.

Re: OVERCLOCKERS can do an RMA properly

lol, ocuk are hilarious, incredibly competitive on prices a few years ago for a while but what seemed like a myriad of problems, had quite a few orders with zero issues, but some with a few days unexplained delays. RMA's were an issue. RMA's seemed to improve as their costs became a joke. At the moment while some things are competitive some things are a joke. They seem to have 3-5 loss leader products to bring people in then everything else you need with those items is ludicrously priced. you can get a Phenom 9950 for £130 some places, no where more thna £140 while OCUK sell it at £155, 4870x2's were all at £400 or above, with the gainward at £500 while everywhere else they were £350-360 and the gainward about £450.

I remember when ddr3 was pretty new Scan had some 2gig pack for like £150 and ocuk had them for £250.

Either way, its not a bad place, its just I've not for over a year managed to find any order I needed cheaper there than anywhere else. Maybe a chip is cheaper one week, but the memory/mobo are so expensive that its cheaper to get the whole order elsewhere, sometimes insanely cheaper.
