Heh. I'm betting it has arrived, and it's a very nice jacket from Boden.
Or a load of polonium 351.
Or a slightly mouldy fish dinner.

Hi Sundy 1
What do you need to know exactly? If you want a more focussed response from the Hexus comunity as a whole, I would like to suggest you start a new thread in the section of the site relevant to your particular query.
and thanks for joining Hexus
I'm still getting no where with this company. For anyone else experiencing problems with techbitsonline I have some advice for you:
If you have not received your goods within 30days, register a complaint with the company and ask for a refund in full as you are entitled to by law. If this request is ignored put it in writing and get it signed and witnessed by a third party. Send the letter to the address advertised on their website by recorded delivery. By law the company is obliged to provide you with a full refund within 30days of the refund request. If they fail to provide a refund after this time, they will be in breach of Section 19 of the Distance Selling Regulations (see opsi.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm), so contact Consumer Direct of the Trading Standards Institute as soon as possible explaining in detail your situation. Trading Standards will consider your complaint (Section 26) and most likely contact the company on your behalf to investigate. If Trading Standards are satisfied that the company is in breach of the Distance Selling Regulations and make no effort to rectify the situation, they may apply for a court injunction to secure compliance with the Regulations.
Hopefully by the time Trading Standards start to correspond with the company, they will promptly refund you. Otherwise you can look forward to the injunction that will hopefully award you damages.
HI
When you do contact Trading Standards PLEASE let me know, I will send a letter at the same time to add more impact if that helps
I'm ALSO getting NO where with this Company. I called to complain that the delivery date had passed and they had promised to investigate 2 days after their promised arrival date....the next day I logged on their site, entered my order number and they extended my delivery date by a further 2 weeks
I called to complain again and the woman on the phone (there are 2 that answer the phone and both useless) said If I make a nuisance of myself and call again (this was my 3rd call in 2 days) they will put me to the bottom of the queue
They refuse to put you through to anyone else and blame their other departments such as dispatch or purchasing - oddly they will not give contact names or anyone in those departments which suggests they do NOT exist
My CC company said after 30 days (which will be soon) they will refund my money and it was a purchase below £100.
What I'm going to ask them is.... will my money be refunded by some insurance or will Techbitsonline (CCK Technologies) be made to pay it back? if its by some purchase insurance then this company will just continue to carry on ripping people off. They need stopping
Let us know how you get on

Hi Shooty, Tetley, een4dja
Plus any other poor soul who has fallen prey to Techbitsonline & CCK Technologies (which they also call them selves)
I've had success with a refund Today - following my calls last week, I checked my online CC statement today
Last week they told me the goods had been dispatched and I should complain to their dispatch department or the Mail company - but would NOT give me contacts within their dispatch department - they also said I was being put to the bottom of the queue as I kept calling them - (HOW RUDE!)
They also said I was the exception and that they have many happy customers and rarely any complaints.... thanks to this forum I know thats not true
to cut a long story short I mentioned to them a local reporter/newspaper who was interested in featuring this in an article about online fraud - I may have been on speaker phone as a man in the background told the woman to hang up (I was not shouting, threatening or swearing so thought his request was unusual) she did hang up
So as I suspected, the goods HAD NEVER been posted to me - and they knew it - otherwise why refund
It's been a battle for 3 weeks now to get my money back..... I know its been longer for you other guys, I did try and private msg you how I managed to get my money back, but doesnt look like I can Pvt Msg you
My advice......
1. Don't use them
2. If you're unlucky enough to have used them - become a nuisance, report them to whoever you can and get your money back - as being a nuisance seems to work with these cowboys (who obviously got scared.... I also mentioned they were being discussed on online forums)
Good Luck

Trading Standards have already paid this company 1 visit at least. Lodge all complaints with them, get them on the radar
I will point out this thread to them with my next phonecall to TS.
Can'tsaytoomuch: I've already pointed them here. They know about it.
Apologies for the late response, the motherboard turned up but not the memory but at least it was the right motherboard. Rang them up and was told the memory would be in stock the next day so I told them to cancel immediately to stop them using the old "cant cancel after dispatch" excuse. Was then told you can't cancel over the phone but have to send a ticket instead. I lost my rag a bit at this point but decided to play the game with them anyway.
I sent a ticket straight away and later the same day I received an email stating:
Thank you for contacting us.
REFUNDS:
We are in receipt of your recent cancellation in writing and acknowledge your refund request, which has now been passed to our accounts team for action.
NOTE: Our Merchant Services indicate Credit Card refunds can take up to 30 days to appear on the customer statements – for Debit Card transactions this time frame may be reduced.
This was on the 19th and for some reason i've got a funny feeling i'll have to contact them again when the 30 days has expired.
On the other hand I also ordered memory from Scan and it arrived 23 hours later - never ceases to amaze me how good some companies are.

I tried to order a printer, motherboard, cpu and memory on the 28th of feb. As of the 23rd March, I have received the printer on the 20th and nothing else.
I've been in contact with them around every two days since last Monday the 16th asking where my order is, they keep fobbing me off with "it's on delivery".
The staff are frankly unhelpful and seem to have a poor grasp of English.
I'm keen to research a bit more about this company, since they don't have a lot of information on their website about where they are based. Perhaps this will be of use to someone!
their website techbitsonline.co.uk lists their information as:
CCK Technologies Limited. Unit A2. Evans business Centre. Zone 1. Deeside Industrial Park. Deeside. Flintshire. CH5 2JZ. Tel: 0871 288 3235 Fax: 0870 288 3236
(from http://www.techbitsonline.co.uk/articles.asp?id=151)
Additionally, their website lists the phone number as:

Their company number - 6241538 - does not register at companie's house. I can't find their listing on there under cck or techbits.

edit: you need a zero in front of that, try 06241538
edit2: they are behind on updating their records with company house. Maybe they're sent with the same courier that's holding on to my stuff.

Edit: update on Wed 25th March 09
Called them twice. First time, I got the standard "please cancel by email" I told them I'd done that already.
Then I got the classic "I'll forward that information to the relevant department".
Tomorrow, if it's not sorted by noon, I'll be calling the trading standards and then the credit card company to get a refund.

it's never ending.... I wonder how much they have made from ripping people off

Spoke to my local trading standards office again today.
Techbitsonline are now not responding to my tickets, can't say I'm particularly suprised.
Also pointed out:
1.) Although their T+C's have changed, they are still incorrect about DSR's
2.) That multiple people are having similar issues, directed to this thread. (I know you have done this previously Shooty*)
3.) Pointed out about the companies house info being out of date. (Thanks for the link Crackshot)
Point 3 was a concern, as pointed out by the woman I spoke to, it could be an indication that the company may stop trading at some point soon.
I know others have done the same, but make sure you lodge your complaints about this company, they shouldn't be allowed to trade if they don't adhere to the rules!
My order was only for a HDD, so either fortunately or unfortunately (depending on how you look at it), I can't claim back via my credit card, but I do have a new HDD which is the wrong I/F to replace the one in my Sky+ box ...at least I can sell it or hook it up to a pc.
From the random digging I've been doing this evening, I have found some stuff:
The director of CCK technologies is Chris Puxty.
http://www.applegate.co.uk/company/16/55/690.htm
His email address at CCK is:
chris@ccktechnologies.co.uk
http://whois.domaintools.com/kpig-bs.com -> http://www.kpig-bs.com
KPIG Business Services is another company directed by Chris, it seems. It was disolved as a
company some time after 31/01/2006. Business no. 05005554, same address as CCK.
http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/info -> look up KPIG
Was previously CAPRICORN DEVELOPMENTS LIMITED (no. 01767218). Dissolved 29/10/1991. I think
Capricorn is a red herring, it doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the data.
all the directorships he holds:

Christopher Percival Puxty, born in 1978:
http://www.checksure.biz/Director/CH...TY-3150010.htm
If you search checksure.biz , it will tell you exactly where his address is which looks like it is about 15 mins drive across the English/Welsh border from the CCK offices.
If you would like, you can download details of his address and date of birth.
It's all in the public domain, and freely accessible from the companies house website:

06241538 CCK TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED RETURN MADE UP TO 09/05/08; FULL LIST OF MEMBERS £1.00
06241538 CCK TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED DIRECTOR'S PARTICULARS CHANGED £1.00
CCK Freephone number! (this is for another business, http://www.pc-doctor.org.uk/ )

Works Saturday & Sunday too, so claims the website!
The moral of the story is: don't get mad, get information.
I've also begun drafting a letter with the trading standards, and will forward this on to the credit card company. This lays out the reasons why he is in breach of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 act.
Thankfully, I paid by visa, and so stand a good chance of getting my cash back. Hopefully.
http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/aft...rs/dsr_letter/
I've posted the method of finding it, not the actual data itself.
Frankly, I'm not sure how kindly the law would take to me posting all that sensitive data online. He's a bloke that's running a bad business, and doesn't deserve to get have his privacy totally invaded just because he's not delivered some hardware.
