Which update, I've not had a problem for a while but then again I'm running a "cooked" rom now..
The one from the HD2 site. I put it on my phone, but apparently that is for a different issue of messaging.
Seems to be a little better now, I deleted almost every message that I had and now it seems a lot quicker, but taking 30 seconds isn't right. Now it's only a couple which is can deal with.
Ahh, I dont keep my sent messages unless there important so that might explain why I dont have a similar issue..
Got mine on Saturday....it's so purdy...easily the nicest phone I've ever owned. Haven't been this impressed with a phone since my O2 XDA...
Thanks HTC, truly awesome.

They have released a new update in the form of a rom, which will wipe the phone. The one on the htc site will probably only work on non network branded phones.

This is a South East Asian ROM ?
Have you tried this yet on a UK phone ?

You can flash it onto European handsets, but you need to have HardSPL'ed first.

Cheers, I flashed from O2 branding already with Hard SPL to V1.48ROM, I don't have these SMS issues and it seems the new update only fixes this issue some people are having.
P.S - Do you have the HD2?
Cheers
I can't imagine the world wide edition, or even localised versions will be far off.

All these updates reminds me of having my iPhone, the hardware is a lot better in the HD2 but the software can't compare to the iPhone...
You can get an SMS fix without upgrading the ROM so if this is all this new ROM gives, it's pointless really. Hope this new ROM brings more upgrades.
I would guess that bundling all the fixes in a new ROM gives the networks the opportunity to issue their own updated ROMs too with it all included. It would also mean that new handsets, not yet in the supply chain can be updated and not require the hot fixes. This is assuming networks don't apply the hot fixes, which I think is a pretty safe bet going by the way they are with current software updates
My phone, seems to be doing fine.
I think I'll wait for a local release to decide whether I'll upgrade the rom as I can't really be bothered to re-setup my phone after the upgrade wipes it.
Pick up the Palm Pre and have a go, the OS is an absolute pleasure to use. It's the most intuitive, user-friendly mobile OS on the market and so elegant with it too. Support to record video is coming in a February update and since the start of this year a number of 3D games have been released for it, e.g. Need for Speed, Assassin's Creed and NFL 2010.
I'm not a fanboy, I'm just concerned that people are dismissing Palm off-hand because of their previous efforts based around Windows Mobile. WebOS is a truly great platform.
Another benefit is the similarity of hardware between the Pre and the iPhone 3GS meaning porting games from the iPhone to the Pre is a snap.
If you want a phone that makes you smile when you use it, buy a Palm Pre. If you want a phone that frustrates you or just seems overly complicated or poorly thought out go with Android or Windows Mobile.
