Well my Desire S with sense 3... quite a bit actually

If you read the engadget comparison between the S and the X its pretty good, there is a few other elements to the discussion than just the SOC. Most notable one being the screen, full 720p sold it for me.

Comparing my current Desire with the HTC One X...I found it rather interesting to see some similarities between them.

Sorry One X, if you had a 5.3" screen like the Note then I wouldn't have doubted you for a second

Re: The HTC One X discussion thread

I guess its a preference thing, but i like to be able to put my phone in my pocket.

Im sure the note is a great device, but its designed to be halfway between two markets and thats what it does.

I still stand by my opinion that samsung phones dont have the same rigid feeling that HTCs have, although i will admit the One X doesnt feel quite as solid as my Desire S, but i think thats more because it actually is plastic rather than aluminium.

Re: The HTC One X discussion thread

Yeah the move to plastic from Aluminium does kinda make it feel not os sturdy but holding and playign with it instore I thought it felt really solid. Much more so than the galaxy s2

Not had a look at cases etc yet (but will be looking for a bedside dock type thing), did have a screen protector on my Desire but after that fell off (didn't seem to stay attatched ) I didn't bother. Phone was still in pretty good condition even without anything around it after 17 months though. That said, it then got replaced just before I renewed due to hardware failure...

Tried the screen thing, couldn't see anything - maybe I wasn't pressing hard enough. Doubt it'll be an issue though.

I have had a look at cases, not made any commitments though. I do like the idea of this one
    http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/htc-hc-v7...gle%2Bproducts

Na i wont bother with a screen protector, with gorilla glass a decent case should be enough to protect it.

Mine actually does the screen thing, its not massively noticeable and you do have to press quite hard but it does do it. Its not a deal breaker mind, nowhere near the antennae-gate issue of the iphones (i say this because thats what its being compared to in the CNET comments).

Re: The HTC One X discussion thread

If you are on Vodafone (I am) and have a SureSignal (like me) then you may have an issue with the new handset not being accepted by the SureSignal, and therefore lacking the better coverage it provides.

Apparently, the SureSignal box works off a network level ID not the mobile phone number, and it doesn't always carry across the change of SIM number as happens when you move from one sim card to another (in my case from a full sized sim to a MicroSim). I phoned Vodafone after I noticed the lack of consistent signal quality, so they did it all for me. If they are busy, the solution as explained is below:

Solution is to unregister your phone from the SureSignal and re-register it, which is simple unless you are the account holder and the SureSignal is registered to you. In which case you need to transfer ownership, unregister yourself, and then re-register and transfer ownership back. Don't ask me how you do it if you are the single user of a SureSignal box which is registered to you.
