don't confuse windows messenger (msn messenger 4.0) with messenger (service to handle NET SEND popups)

Well I knew there were two confusing similar names, but MSN in startup and messenger in services from control panel are both disabled on my winxp...........I'm not sure what I'm missing as my computer does anything I want.

Well side tracking......In Vista, msnmsgr is in startup and I have just unticked it...erm lets see what happens.

Well after unticking msnmsgr in startup, it hasn't affected the way I use my computer (so far) and MS didn't complain when I've just downloaded an upgrade.
