Setting it up on my PS3 for now I don't think my laptop could handle it too well, but once I get my new system together I'll use that too.
This totally sounds like a good excuse to get an i7 over an i5. It's for SCIENCE!
This isn't the easiest folding team to find details of. I had to revert to searching for Folding to get to this.
Anything we can do to promote the Hexus team? I for one am not a member (yet), but that's becasue there doesn't appear to be any sort of activity going on around f@h.
Am I missing something?
I switched from folding from CPC/BitTech to HeXus (because you know, HeXus is so awesome and stuff!). I agree there isnt much discussion, but what is there to discuss really?!
It's declined in popularity of late, we've tried a few times to bolster support in our membership but to no avail. A lot of members have been trying to reduce their leccy bills too
But if you guys want to pick up the baton to raise the profile of Hexus folding, go for it Could do with some new blood.
We're just Folding quietly really

Would be handy for the HEXUS frontpage to support it but meh...
Very quietly judging by the stats. Only 23 active folders that I can see, which I'm stunned at!
I've got a target of getting into the top 200 for BizTech/CPC, then afterwards I think I'm going to come over.
Besides I could do with some help in setting up my gtx 295's so that they fold on both cores on my server. That should help our respective scores somewhat!
See you in 200,000 points time I guess.... at the current rate that's 4 weeks, but I can get that down to 2 weeks if we don't have a heat wave.
...
Incidentally, I've just started doing home-brew. This folding @ homelark kicks out just the right amount of heat to keep my room at a lovely warm 20-23 Degrees C. Beer LOVES fermenting at that temperature!
Making beer and curing cancer rocks!
I keep buying components to set up a folding box, then either running out of money or finding them DOA. I'm still hopeful that I will get a 4-GPU box up and running eventually though - at the minute I'm just trying to work out which machines to take apart in my attempt to save the motherboard I want to use (I suspect a dodgy BIOS flash which I might be able to fix...). Although I suppose there's always the 8400GS as a back up plan...
That kinda sucks
I think I've downloaded the SMP client to my dev server at work, but I haven't got round to setting it up yet. Will have to try and find some spare time to mess with it
I am now back from university (although still have the matter of finals). Before I had two PC's one for home and one for uni. Ive now converted my home PC to home serving and folding. Most of the points from the OC'd 8800GT but also uses CPU client as well. Used to have CPU clients on various web browsing laptops etc, but the PPD for CPU folding is so low in comparison to PS3 / GPU (and even SMP)
Id also love the AMD client to get its life sorted out. The 5850 could whack out the PPD if AMD folding == Nvidia folding.
Not being a PS3 user myself - can you still select a team etc for the PS3 client or do you just contribute anonymously? Maybe worth promoting the team in the PS3 HeXus gaming forum if you can
