I'm trying to get into the top 50 on just a PS3 left on off-peak hours
good progress so far
76% of my WP, PC crashed out. Rebooted the PC and SMP client, rejected checkpoint. Starting at 0%. This happens too often, i'm done. Until they build a more stable client i'm not wasting any more of my time.

Aint done any distributed computing since Seti 10 years ago!!!
Butuz
Just joined but couldn't get the SMP version to work.
The install.bat file seemed to run okay, but then tried running the exe file and it didn't seem to do anything.
Any thoughts?
I've never had any luck with the SMP client - it's far too unstable.
I'm using the GPU client and it gives me far more points, warms up my room in these cold winter nights and isn't quite so buggy. In fact, I've just OC'd my graphics card a bit which has given me another 200 PPD
This is annoying, i have the latest 13" Macbook Pro, and i get this message when trying to run the mac F@H client
Any ideas? Its the only intel mac client available
Hi guys. I'm gonna join the team when I get in from work tonight.
Sorry if this is a question that has been asked repeatedly - if Im doing a bit of folding is it okay just to have a stock cooler? (Just got an i7 920). I'm gonna get a good cooler soon but until then.. I don't wanna do any damage to the CPU having it operate under full load for hours at a time..
ED: signed up with SMP and got it running. One more question - do I have to leave my computer on long enough for it to get to 100% to get the points? Or can I do a bit then shut it down then a bit then shut it down etc?

Strange, theres a F@H icon in the System Preferences, which allow me to enable or disable the F@H service, but either way trying to open the actual App fails
Was looking into running this but I'm confused about how to do this.
I've got the two files, Folding@home-Win32-x86-systray-623 and FAH6.23beta-win32-SMP-mpich
Not sure how to use the "patch" though. Also, not sure how to get smp enabled too. In W7, the target box is greyed out.
Another problem I'm having is for F@h to save my username, passkey and team number, I've tried editing the client file but it doesn't seem to work.
Hopefully someone can help me get it up and running!
Anyone having trouble getting new work units?
It has been cycling a "couldn't get work instruction" error since 5:50AM .
