Question Can one use (eg) office 2007 serial on office 2003?

Have been in email contact with MS about this, but had 3 or 4 emails back from some non-native-English speaking customer service individuals who need a good lesson in grammar

they keep on telling me I can't use an Office 2003 serial to install office 2007 - DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!

reason is that I need to use office 2003, but want to see if can buy a licence for 2007 and downgrade it. Remember when looking at MS's licencing agreement for multiple seats for a charity, a few years back, the vendor allowed us to buy a higher version license for lower end software. Was def Office apps.

I currently have office 2003 on one PC but need it on another (a laptop)

    thanks

Yes you can downgrade but you have to contact MS directly, call them on 08706010100, if you can't understand the person you are talking to don't be afraid to ask to talk to some one else, you are paying after all!

    Using www.saynoto0870.com gets you - +353 14502113 (press 3 then 2 for Tech Support), +353 18831002 or 0800 281221.

+353 is Ireland, 0800 is obviously free.

I'd be surprised, I'd expect the length to be wrong.

I tried to use an XP pro serial on XP Home and couldn't
(I know if you run windows you should travel fully equipped for a re-install doh )

Items from the same product stream aren't covered under the downgrade scheme, in theory what you can do with your XP Pro serial is use it to activate a copy of Windows ME as that's from the previous generation.

God knows why anyone would do it though!
