    Re: Firefox 3 Beta Released

Just been upgraded to his automatically and i have to say..

I dont like it at all atm, the tabs are a pain in the arse, i dont know if its just me but i cant see how the hell am supposed to close one tab at a time which is frustrating.

Hope they resolve the issues sooner rather then later.

No idea if it works but try middle clicking on the tab - opera works that way.

    Re: Firefox 3 Beta Released

I'm using firefox 3 beta 4 at the moment, can't you just click the red box with the white cross at the right side of the tab? One thing that does annoy me with it is that there doesn't appear to be a home button, at least i can't find it.

Right click the toolbar and then customise - you can add the homepage button back if its gone (I've no idea if its there by default as I've not tried it )

I normally wait till its been out a fair few months before moving over to it. Did the same with FF2

Fixed, it was using a custom skin, which it didn't support

one of the main reasons i could never understand the spread of FF (esp on the win) was because it leaked horrifically, with tabbed browsers i've a habbit of keeping the same instance open for days, it would gobble memory.

FF 3.0 they claim to of fixed many leaks.

many of the ram issues were due to leaks in the adobe flash nsplugin, not firefox itself (ie didn't suffer since it uses a less buggy activex control instead)
Very interesting article here describing the changes made to address memory usage/leaks:

    Re: Firefox 3 Beta Released

I haven't tried using firefox 3 yet. Does it work ok now?. I mean does it have bugs or it was already applicable to used at?. I have read it was still in beta testing so I am quite hesitant as it may exhibit a lot of errors in it.

If you installed ff3 beta [already have 2.0 installed], will your bookmarks remain?

As always with a beta though, backup first.
